Hey ya'll. I really enjoy the Metal Gear Solid and it always kinda seemed missing from Beethoven my PS4 Pro with over 2000 games. So I figured I would use Linux to fix that. My goal was to be able to play the entire Metal Gear Solid saga in chronological order on my PS4. Unfortunately the ps2 to ps4 fpkg's I would build for MGS2 and MGS3 were unplayable. Maybe someone has an actual working one and can help? People would tell me they worked but any I would build would eventually crash. While I eventually had retroarch for the NES, MSX, and PS1 titles, this pretty much meant I needed to come up with a solution for the PS2 and PS3 titles. I turned to linux. First I tried rpcs3, and while my results were impressive, MGS4 was not playable at all. I was able to get ps2 emulated but I was unhappy with performance. This led me to the idea of Playstation Now. Why not just stream these titles? While at first this did not work for me I eventually did happen upon a working configuration.

I am using Catjaro (Manjaro 21.0.7 Ornara)

Once you are in the linux environment you will want to install .NET Framework 4.0. I think you might need xna I am not sure. What I did was I installed Metal Gear Solid which installs these as part of it's install process. However you do this once you have those dependencies installed Make sure to use version wine lutris-5.7-10-x86_64 to perform the install of playstation now in Lutris. I tried many times on multiple distro's but I might have simply needed to use this one version to get it to work. Not sure. Others will have to report. I recorded my process here:

I would recommend running this using a 3.0 hd dock with a SSD. I would also recommend allocating a 4gb swap file.

I tried making chocolate lava cakes the other day in cupcake pan, what a mess, my lava exploded out of the cakes everywhere while baking, was still ok tho, just no lava inside.

We had our grandkids over yesterday and I got a small above ground swimming pool I filled for them to play in. Well today I woke to find 3 ducks swimming around in it. Don't mind really but they are annoyingly loud, quack quack. Gotta drain it today. Guess what were having for dinner, lol.

I used butter instead of vegetable oil, and think that's why they squirted out during baking, who knows
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah i think oil is the right call

plus if you're making brownies or lava cakes for people with dairy allergies, you should use oil instead of butter anyway

I make rum cake for 4th July every year, I make it a week prior and then soak it in rum in the fridge all week. I flip the cake each day, and add little more rum, it soaks it up everyday, so good.
