I have completely full boxes in HGSS, and many boxes of pokemon in my other gen 4 games. I would love to move the pokemon all the way up eventually into Pokemon Home via Pokemon Bank, but really dislike how the met date is changed to the date of transfer to gen 5 from gen iv upon using poke transporter within gen 5. Even using PKSM, the date changes to the date you moved the pokemon from PKSM into Gen V. Similarly, the met date is changed upon using Pokemon Chest.

Is there another tool or way to bring the Pokemon up while keeping the met dates? Or is my best bet to change the date on my 3ds to the date of capture of the mon, then move with poke transporter or PKSM? Which is doable, but takes a very long time.

I can also manually edit caught dates in Pokemon Chest, but could that cause any legality issues? Keeping the legality flags is important to me as well. And again, this process is time consuming when I have a completely full PC.'

Was wondering if there was a better or faster way.

My suggestion is to keep your 3ds at the current date and edit the dates of the Pokemon to you see fit
iirc it should be fine as long as the met date and the game origin along with met location & PID are all good
in regards to the first 3 checks i mentioned a example of it being an obvious no no is:
"Torchic lvl 5
Met date: 1999
Met Location: Cerulean City
Game origin: Leaf Green"
This might not be the best answer for you but it's an example of just how annoying editing Pokemon can be
but afaik, no changing the date to be within reason should not affect legality unless it's an event mon if you really wanna be careful with this i suggest doing this on PKHEX as I've had inconsistent results when checking a mons legality through PKSM, idk about PKSM but you can always backup your Pokemon with PKHEX by exporting the .pk3 file of said Pokemon of choice, i hope this helps!

True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.

For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.

So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway

Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.

They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree

I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups

I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.

I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man cave, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start

But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it. Even when the kids come over, they don't want to play on it, just the xbox. TMNT and Simpson's arcade is still so fun on it, esp w 2 players.
