Introduction
Yesterday i was working on turning my Raspberry Pi in a device to connect my Xbox controller and use it with my 3DS, so i decided to make a script with all the steps I did. In my case I use a portable battery to supply my Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W and use it where i want

How it works?
With this utility you can transform your Raspberry Pi in a hotspot with Input Redirection Client and FakeMii. When you turn on your Raspberry Pi with your controller, it will create the hotspot and initialize the FakeMii proxy and the Input Redirection Client, the only thing you need to do is connect your 3DS to the hotspot, enter in Rosalina Menu and start Input Redirection

Requeriments
A Raspberry Pi (Any model) with Raspbian OS installed (Desktop Environment)
A modified 3DS with Luma
A Xbox wired controller (You can use a controller form another brand or a bluetooth controller if you can set it up, in my case I install drivers and libraries that I need for the Xbox controller)

Installation
git clone https://github.com/Layraaa/3DSPiController
cd 3DSPiController
bash 3DSPiController.sh

Setup in 3DS
  • Go to system settings
  • Internet settings
  • New connection
  • Manual settings
  • Set SSID, password and proxy server
    • For set the proxy, go to advanced settings
    • Proxy Server: 192.168.4.1
    • Port: 3000

The tech isn't there for affordable power enough VR headsets at a good market value yet sadly, oculus had a good idea but didn't have enough funds for marketing iirc

But now it's "can I use my VR set with my racing games, that would be neat?" "ONLY IF YOU USE OUR DILDOSTICK CONTROLLERS AND RUN THE GAME ON OUR ANDROID-UNDERPOWERED BRICK"

The tech to have quality VR goggles at an affordable price is here, but every set has to have 4 additional controllers and be standalone.

These are the same type of gamers that spend $2,000 on a GPU when a $600 GPU gives nearly the same outcome which is what the market looks at for them to do spend more on unneeded bs

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
If we're talking AAA titles a vr headset would be priced at nearly the same cost as a midrange gaming pc maybe even double

I think they should bring back the shutter glasses for VR put 120Hz screen in for 60FPS and even a basic phone these days can pull that off

    How so?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I liked the Ouya as a concept the implementation left much to be desired
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Pi kind of did it right
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Ouya did set the standard for android media consoles so I can give them that

  • Veho @ Veho:
The Ouya kind of hinged on their game shop and the idea of mandatory free demos and shit. When that failed, the console flopped with it.
