Those countries probably wouldn't mind if they did in real life, too.

Standardizing the Dollar for those countries/regions is a good move, IMO. This should keep things more balanced and stable.

If Sony does the same for the Turkish PlayStation Store there'll be a lot of unhappy non-Turkish residents with it. Ha ha

Hmm... While it's good for the developers, I'm not so sure on the customers. The first couple of years of using euros were quite an adjustment(I still think in Belgian Franks occasionally), and that currency was everywhere. Estimating prices is a lot tougher when you're not used to it.
