That sucks...but if she's going on holiday then she'll have new stuff to tell you upon her return. Plus if she's anything like the girls I dated they tend to keep in textual contact anyway. Hell, my ex Jenny went on a month long trip to Russia and didn't miss a single day without at least texting me.

As for the walk in the rain thing, just being there tends to help. More often than not you get a kiss at the door too. Just something to keep in mind for the future. Conversation's not really relevant when it's lashing it down, just your presence there so she's not walking home in such conditions all alone shows that you care.

And find a copy of the new A Team movie. I got it on my DS, it kicks ass. Pretty safe choice of movie, I reckon. Not too geeky, not uber violent, not bordering on porn. You're safe on all fronts. Perfect fun night in with the girly friend.

Make sure they're good copies. Bad picture/sound quality spoils the atmos. You can probably pick up the actual DVD's for a couple of quid, just buy them. Saves messing around.

Yay for Finding Nemo! I love that movie. My girl and saw Monsters Vs. Aliens the first time and she liked it. Careful what you burn though, bad quality would be a bit awkward.
