so about a month or two ago, my dad got xbox game pass for an... unknown reason, but i didn't mind since its pretty good. i've messed around with it and downloaded a couple of games, alongside my dad, who got gears of war 3 and fallout 4. i haven't really gotten into those games so i dunno if their good or bad, but my dad likes them.
flash forward to about two weeks before father's day. i wanted to get my dad something and i knew that the game pass was going to expire eventually. so, knowing that gamestop was, most likely, wasn't going to have anything im looking for (either i cant find what im looking for or if i do find it, next time im there its gone), i decided to go to my local retro game store (the same place i got my pokemon sapphire copy)
its a pretty quiet place most of the time and when it isn't, theres a card game tourney going on. they have what i like to call "rent-a-pc" where you can rent a pc for a limited amount of time. haven't really touched it, but there's this one kid who i swear lives there, since every time im in there, the kid is always sitting in the exact same seat.
getting back on topic, while looking around i had found ghostbusters for the xbox 360 (we had it for the wii, but our wii broke and haven't gotten another one since. also i dont think they have a wii section.) and fallout 4 which seemed to be complete in box (had game, instruction booklet and poster in it). it wasn't goty edition, but i didn't really care. got the games, gotten back home and then i realised that there was a code on the back of the instruction pamphlet that you could get fallout 3 for free. but the copy i got was preowned so the code was most likely already used
yesterday, i was bored and decided to put in the code to test. it cant hurt to try, right?
it worked. which blew my mind
here i thought it was gonna not work or it was gonna be used already, but surprise to me it had worked
told my dad and he was as surprised as i am. he said he's has to complete 4 though, which is understandable.
moral of the story: if you get a pre-owned game and it comes with a code for something, use the code to see if it works.
also i know i haven't been making blogs every day and i do not care.
