An American type HD Nintendo Console?

How do you feel about an HD Nintendo console that uses strictly controllers, is compatible with live chat, and game invites?

For instance, I turn on my Nintendo system, plug-in my Ethernet cable, put in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, plug-in the mic into my controller, invite three friends on my friends list, and we all play.

All of the Nintendo games have trophies / achievements.

How do you people feel towards this approach, would you appreciate it more?

It's basically the old question of "Why didn't Nintendo make an Xbox 360" to which the answer is there's already an Xbox 360 and if you want a console like that then go and buy it. in fact there's two consoles like that, you've got a choice.

nope

i welcome the better online, but definitely not the controller, and i couldn't care less about HD

I have an Xbox 360, PS3, and a Nintendo Wii.

I was just bringing up the concept, put all realism aside.

OFF-Topic: Dammit the title of this thread made me think u discovered some new Ninty HD console. :P

Somewhat, I really would like the Wii's online capabilities to be expanded, and it have it be similar to the 360 in terms on online play, because I really would like it to be better, right now it seems very limited.

Don't say that! then people will ask for MAG DS! With the same multiplayer support! and Graphics too!

I think you're misunderstanding the point.

What I'm going for is a Nintendo console that basically has the hardware on the same level as the PS3 or the XBOX 360, this way there would be no Friend Codes, no faulty wireless online play, and an overall better experience, (at least in my standpoint).

I'm not forcing the impression of the Wii turning into another console, rather the Wii being beefed to be on par with the others, not in terms of being good as them, but being similar.

I think the Wii is fine just the way it is.
Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft will always be that, Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft.
No MicroNin, Sotendo, Niny, none.
Mixing them together is just a catastrophe.

You're asking for something already made. A 360 and a Wii.

Why not take a Sharpie and crudely scrawl 'niNtenDo' on the side of your Xbox?

First off, a lack of processing power or whatever isn't why Nintendo does friend codes, they do it because they're retarded and try to make a family friendly console, meaning they think a bagillion pedophiles will be on it, adding your kids to their friend's list and seducing them online. Same reason why you can't do public voice chat, not to mention why voice chat is so limited (outside of the fact that Wii Speak sucks).

Wireless play just doesn't work on Brawl because Brawl has shitty online. If you play The Conduit, Call of Duty 4, Mario Kart, etc, I rarely get any lag or disconnects. Hell I have my Xbox 360 in roughly the same location that uses wireless (using an adapter, not one of those brand new models) and it lags more and disconnects more than my Wii.

And what you're saying isn't just your standard "beefing up" suggestion, but rather you want it to be exactly like the Xbox and Xbox Live. I wouldn't mind a beefier Wii honestly with these features, but it ain't gonna happen. Nintendo's been making money by trying stuff differently now, although next generation (when every console is trying to go casual like they are now) they better have some really big rabbit to pull out of their hat, otherwise they'll be up against consoles with more features, more power, and just as much family-friendly motion controls as before.

I agree, and I already have all of this in mind.

It was more in a hypothetical sense., crossing out all of the current events and obvious factors.

I said, "American", because PC gaming and the Xbox 360 contain more personal interactivity between both parties, while the PS3 has the same capabilities, but isn't all about what Xbox 360 is trying to ensue over consumers.

Eastern consoles weren't much into online gaming aside from the Dreamcast and PS2, but the original Xbox basically tried to match the PC gaming experience.
