Beware of Scams

So as a bunch of you know, I was had by the user emoo55, who was supposed to sell me a Wii but ran away with my cash. Thankfully, I paid with PayPal and have filed a dispute claim against him, however he's refusing to respond which will mean PayPal will decide in my favour anyways (I mean, why wouldn't they, he didn't sell me his Wii like he agreed to and just ran off with my money), so if anyone would like to harass him about how much of an ass he is for scamming a fellow 'temper, his email address is: [email protected]
and the GBAtemp username is (as mentioned): emoo55

Feel free to go nuts; spam him, torture him, I don't care. He stole money from me that I will get back regardless, but morons like this need to be made an example of. You don't advertise something for sale, take money, and disappear. That's theft, and believe me I am more than happy taking his fraudulence to the police.

Thank goodness I didn't fall for him! He was trying to get me to trade my SCD1 for his CycloDS. I said (because it was too good to be true) that I would have to wait until I get my CycloDS before I ship out my SuperCard. He said that was a no-go because it was a xmas gift  . I guess he was going to do is lie about when he shipped it...

Thanks for telling us!

Yeah, I was scammed out of £70 for a modded Slim PS2 by some guy, perhaps the same one. Only scams so far on GBATemp have been orchestrated by the same guy, so it' worth checking up on.

Can't believe people do this kind of thing. ¬¬

Christmas is the time for scamming. I noticed that everywhere that scamming goes up when Christmas rolls around... Sad really.

It's not just that, but when you're shopping online, do make sure you read absolutely everything and then decide if it's too good to be true (and likely is).

My friend is shopping for a PSP so I can mod it. He found one online for about $33USD, and while it sounded like an incredibly swell deal, it turns out it was just for the entertainment pack, no system at all--despite the fact it has the system specs and a stock picture of the system.

Remember that people have bought $600 N64 and PS2 boxes, so keep your money safe this holiday~

Really? :-(, he was gonna sell me his 8gb micro sd for a good price. I guess that deals off

You guess :P ? At least you found out before it was too late!

Someone should really tell that guy that he's being scammed :\.
It's quite depressing what lengths people will go to to scam others.

I'm guessing its to late anyways.

As stated previously, he was banned earlier. We'll keep an eye out for him in the future. That said, do not post his personal information without consent. It doesn't matter if he's a scammer or a saint, it's in bad taste and against the rules.

Looks like hankchill already did :) Good man :P

Also he goes by the name of emoo69 and has another email account at gmail.

The person from the looks of it lives with his dad. 18 years of age and goes to a Catholic school.

As much as I agree with you Ace, really I think the information should only be taken down if he has a problem with it being up here; if he were to complain about it, I can see the info being pulled, however since he hasn't objected (and you've obviously banned him) I don't see a problem with sending brown bags of turds to his doorstep

it's pretty funny though, because when I was hesitant to pay him he said to me "I was scammed $350 out of a drum kit and I got my money back because it's on paypal, so you have nothing to worry about"... yet it was his intentions to scam me :P Tough shit for him, PayPal won't stand for that and will refund me the money from his account, even if it puts him in the negatives, that just makes his paypal unusable.

I guess he missed the whole "thou shalt not steal" part -_-

bah, I am sure the is a special level of hell for people like this, along with child abusers and people that talk in the cinema -_-

as for paypal, don't hold your hopes up, if he has already transferred the money out of his account you will get zilch

Not true, I just got off the phone with a customer service agent from PayPal and she said that I will not lose the funds if it's decided in my favour -- I would get a full refund and the money would be taken out of his PayPal account -- if the PayPal balance is less than what he owes me, then he'd be receiving a letter from PayPal to pay it immediately or they would have legal rights to withdraw it from his account.

I second that, but it doesn't matter what we say (its up to the mods).

I sure hope he gets sued :P !

Nice job hankchill. I really hate scammers too. I was so close in being scammed once but I researched that guy that tried to scam me and pulled out last second. So lucky. I could've lost $200 as well.

And @playallday. Nice sneaky text there lol. I was highlighting for fun 'cause I'm fidgety with my mouse and I found your text in white haha.

Isn't .CA china ? why would trust anyone in china , after all look at the baby's milk problem there , if they would do that to there on kids what would they do to a stranger.
