Today I was going through my flashcards when I found my M3 Real. It both made me annoyed and sad. It brought back memories of how great the card used to be and honestly made me feel kinda because nowadays I advice people away from the card instead of towards it.
I remember when I first bought that flashcard how amazing it was and how much fun I had with it. At that time there was only the Touchpod kernel available and Sakura was just being planned out for it. It was pretty cool looking at all the new features that were going to be added and also seeing how fast they would update.
I remember my M3 Real being the all in one card. Even with Touchpod, it had features like the PDA and the Built in Moonshell, all rather stable and useful. Then when Sakura came out, it was best kernel I ever used. Not only was it all in one, it was highly customization and also had feature I wish more flashcards would have nowadays. One feature I miss greatly was the ability to not only soft-reset, but also RTS. Yeah you could choose between either just resetting your rom, or Real-time save. The RTS wasn't the good, but with a little more work I think they would could have fixed it up.
Not to mention the M3 Team also made the iTouch kernel and R4i RTS kernel, which both are also my favorite looking kernels out there. The iTouch being very simple, but yet had some nice features like RTS, which actually was a little more stable the Sakura RTS. The RTS was way more simple. but it was it's simplicity that made it more stable. Same with the R4i RTS.
Sadly the M3 team for some reason hated 3rd party support and or porting their kernels to their other cards (as in iTouch to M3 Real and vise versa.) Which lead them to stop making stable full updates and just updates to lock out the kernels or porting their kernels. This hatred caused their death.
It makes me wonder what the M3 would be like now if only they embraced their users, instead of pushing them away. I bet if they didn't make the M3i Zero GMP-Z003 and released their Source Codes, the M3 scene would be a much different place.
I miss the old days of the M3 scene I want them back!
