I got (and have been using) a laptop a few days ago. I needed one for college so here it is. Direct X diagnostic below:
I'm pleased with it, its worked fine so far. I can run some games alright, just nothing intensive. I can at least play like Fallout: New Vegas, something I've been gearing to get back into since I gave my friend his copy back. The only issue I'm having so far is that I don't have a fucking mouse. I have two spare mice but they're not USB and I only have USB inputs. So I can't play shit until I get a USB mouse. Otherwise I've been using it to watch some shows and stuff. Been catching up on Burn Notice and started watching Batman: TAS.
On a side note I'm leaving for NYC today but I'll still be here frequently now that I have a laptop.
EDIT: Also a minor annoyance is that I'll never get used to a fn key. My desktop's keyboard has one and I always hit it instead of ctrl. And on the laptop, the F keys aren't F1, F2, etc by default, they're different functions (brightness adjust, pause, fastforward, rewind, etc). Kinda sucks for gaming I suppose although I haven't experienced too many games that it's crucial too (except for quicksaving which is typically F5).
