Also the hair in these games looks progressively more androgynous. Like the guy's hair looks like a girl's haircut. Whatever happened to the good ol' days where it was a kid with a plain hat?

Yeah. He didn't seem like that in the japanese version though. But that could be because i couldn't understand anything >_>

Don't worry, he is. In the beginning when you meet the guy who lost his Herdier, Hugh goes "WHAT THE FUCK ASSHOLE YOU SHOULD TAKE BETTER CARE OF YOUR POKEMON SHITFACE." And the farmer is so nice that his wife heals your Pokemon whenever and you can run around his farm like a dickhole and beat up wild Pokemon.

Eh, I wouldn't say that. It does have a noticeable amount of fluff too it. A lot of features they take time to point out but are quite average. I still feel that Gold/Silver/Crystal/their remakes really are the best purely because of what they brought to the franchise, how they evolved the series, and just how sequel-ish they felt.

Also I can't say I enjoy the new Pokemon all that much. They're usually rather forgettable and most of them I wouldn't take over older ones. Like there's a stupid Goth Pokemon which is pure Psychic and I'd much rather have Abra over. I prefer Zubat over Woobat (Woobat also just sounds like a Chinese knockoff of Zubat), Riolu over Zorua, and the starters all feel rather lame. It's the third fire/fighting starter they've had (in a row, nonetheless) and it stands out as all the others lack a secondary type. At least D/P/Pt had Grass/Ground, Water/Steel, and Fire/Fighting to make it a bit balanced. I'm playing with Snivy and he feels so useless. I played with Oshawott in the first game and he felt like a bad Squirtle.

I didn't really mention the remakes :/
Gold was my all time favorite Pokemon game. I still have the cartridge i believe.

That's right, it took Game Freak god knows how many years to come to the bright realization that people don't enjoy walking for the first hour of the game and actually give you your Running Shoes in the intro.

Don't remind me of this. Fire Red was awful for this, having to wait until you had your first Gym Badge from Brock before you got them.

Running at the beginning of the game just seems ridiculous to Game Freak. I don't know why.

Expands game time. It's dead obvious that A LOT of Pokemon is actually just padding. You have to be a couple badges in to finally get the optimal mode of on-foot transportation (Bicycle), several badges in to get the best way of transportation (Fly), they take a lot of time on useless dialogue and exposition, a lot of time introducing you to features that are stupid (playing Pokemon dress-up, owning that junction near the desert, the Battle Subway, etc), low encounter rates on crucial Pokemon (the first gym is Normal type and you only have a 5% chance of finding a Riolu, which they bumped his first Fighting move to lvl 15 anyway), and let's not forget the grinding. Like right now I'm at the Electric-type gym and I can either A) grind a lot or B) grind a Sandile (which I don't want to do since I used Sandile in my first Black game and I don't want to use him again).

I am actually rather disappointed in this game.
Don't get me wrong, it's still pretty much the normal pokemon game I know and love, but I am going to agree with Guild on this game feeling more like a fan made game than a real one.
Not to mention I hate what they did to Team Plasma, they really dumb'd them down to near Jessie and James stupidity (old ones not the new ones.) It's like they turned them into a stereotypical 90's kid's gang in ninja clothing.
And Hugh...he sucks, I hate him more than I hate Dawn and bidoof put together. He pretty lives in your shadow and sucks. He bitches at people about how they take care of their pokemon and is way up Team Plasma's ass, even more up there than the hero in Black and White one. I honestly hate him and would pay someone to make hack without him.

I do however like the fact that I can just toss my starter aside and get a Riolu right at the start of the game.

I really hope the more I play in this game that it improves, because thus far I am not pleased with this game.
