This post is about 3 months late, but I guess it doesn't matter much. Last year I finally finished high school and am currently studying game design at Anhembi Morumbi, a brazilian university. It feels great, finally studying something you enjoy. I've noticed some people in my class haven't realised yet the difference between being being a dev and a gamer, but I guess that's normal.
Our first project is to make a board game to understand about game mechanics and rules. I'm quite happy with the results, but I think my group could have worked more on the gameplay. We started it about 2 months ago, and are finally going to send the files to a printing firm this week to make the final product.
This is the boxart for who might be interested (without any information on it yet):
The biggest problem we've had so far was with the quality of the game. Some of the group had great ideas, but sometimes they wouldn't make it work properly. It's kinda hard to tell your friend to forget about it because you weren't satisfied with his results.
I guess that is all. I really hope we could sell this game someday, but I think it's too early to consider something like that. Got to study a lot more until we learn how to apply out ideas and organize it.
