gamestop fucked me over because of scalpers

So, last night i learned that my order of a single copy of Freakyforms Deluxe that i bought the day Freakyhaxx came out has been cancelled. Gamestop didn't accept the money from PayPal and THEY cancelled my order, most likely due to selling out of the game. I'm fairly annoyed that I got fucked out of the game due to people buying shittons of the game purely to resell it. Now if i want the game instead of spending 10 bucks to get it from gamestop I'm going to be forced to buy it from scalpers, and the lowest ive seen it was 50 bucks. -_-

TL;DR: Scalpers fucked me over, i wanted to rant about it.

Maybe it was just other people with the same idea as you who bought all the copies, there's no saying for sure one way or another.

Where are you looking that has it for $50 I've been seeing them for 25-30 on ebay

If what you say is the whole story then that's very unprofessional of Gamestop. When you sell something to someone, you can't just sell that exact same thing to someone else expecting to get a replacement in time. And you just accepted that? You shouldn't enable unprofessional behavior like that.

You can't blame gamestop entirely. He ordered online. From what I understand orders need to be accepted manually hence why they can take a few days to process. If that is true orders are first come first serve. OP wasnt the only one ordering from Gamestops site unfortunately.

And OP should have done what? Called in and complained? He'd be told it's first come first served, and as is probably described on their site, inventory information isn't real time.

Shit happens, you don't always get what you want. Don't blame scalpers, because it very well could have just been the massive influx of legitimate customers buying the game that caused them to sell out.

Had that happen with an Amazon (third party order). I was fine with paying $30 since I didn't have to go out to get a copy. Order went through fine, but they cancelled a couple of days later - and had another listing for $100 + $6 shipping. Kind of disgusting, but it's a free market.

I managed to pick up a few from a local EBGames - and I ended up calling a few more, but they didn't have copies of it...

There should be a limit on how many copies a person can buy. Like 2 per person each week.

yeah. Fuck gamestop.
I ordered 4 copys, one for me, my friend, and my cousin, and they only gave me three and canceled the last one.

They did it to me in person after reserving a copy of Cubic ninja to be sent to my local gamestop. They cancelled the shipment and raised the price from $5 to $40. I didn't let them get away with it though, I called customer support and ended up getting a $50 gift card. I spent it and haven't shopped there since
