gamestop fucked me over because of scalpers

That happened to me when I first tried to get a Japanese copy of Cubic Ninja from Amazon for $35 and even that was overcharging but since it was more rare than usa and eu versions, plus I have a jp system anyway I bought it.

It was about 2 weeks after accepting my order it still wasn't shipped, so I thought wft is going on. I sent a msg and they replied 3 days later explaining that they were very sorry but the item is no longer in stock and they cancelled it thereafter.

A week later, the fuckers were advertising it for $89, so yeah I know the feeling pal.

the worst part is that I'd gotten an email confirming that my order went through, so ive been waiting expecting to get it for the past what, 11 days? and they just now get around to saying that it's been canceled.

I know you here this all the time but you would really benefit from a sky3ds. Yes its more money than a game but you gotta think of the futurenot just now, if theres another exploit and it happens again with rocketing game price your already covered and you got your moneys worth and more. Plus i cant fault the sky3ds they are fantastic

Gamestop is a really scam-like business. A few people have been through some moments where they wanted to destroy GameStop (I have had moments like that of course.) Where I have been scammed discs being sold as "new/refurbished", and getting games that have lots of scratches/finger prints on them.

Only use GameStop for buying Preowned Games, or Factory Sealed.

Also any order that is potentially used to modify a game would be considered no longer sold due to issues with Nintendo, or stuff.
Imo just pay $50 USD if you really want to hack it. I'm not a big fan of 3DS Hacking since it has a lot of issues with hacking its self, and not that its a bad thing. Its just tedious to go out, and buy a new game just for a new exploit.

petethepug - I hate Gamestop for selling "new" games that they themselves had taken out of the case. What part of "new" means take it out of the case and mess with it?

What part of "new" means take it out of the case and "mess" with it? The definition itself. They're not selling "Untouched" copies of games, they're selling "New" copies of games. The opposite of new isn't used, it's old. I don't agree with the practice, but I love being the devil's advocate.

@Pedeadstrian I agree with @astrangeone. While it is still technically 'new', it's not mint. There's a level of quality reassurance when you buy something that is still sealed in the original packaging.

When the psp's were first hacked you needed a early version of gta for the save exploit. I took the early version case to the counter, but realised when I left they gave me an updated game. Had to go back and make them go through every copy to find the right one.

I pretty much only buy used from them. For anything new do yourself a favor and get Best Buy Gamers Club unlocked for $30 bucks for 2 years. Every new release I buy (standard edition) is $51.83 after taxes. That's about $12 off each new game purchase. Otherwise you trade stuff into Gamestop (they like your money), sell on Ebay or Craigslist (which can be an adventure).


That being said, I did get three copies of Freakyforms from Gamestop. One copy local for about $5, and 2 online orders for about $11 each. I am not into the whole scalping thing. I keep 2 copies of the exploit games ( I have 2 Cubic Ninja, 2 Ocarina of Time and 2 Freakyforms Deluxe). The 3rd copy of Freakyforms Deluxe I traded straight up for a R4i 3DS here on the trading area.

I don't see how this is the scalpers' fault. There's a good amount of people who just legitimately wanted to use it for homebrew, and it's a limited stock out-of-print game, of course it would sell out quickly.

Honestly the only people worse than scalpers are the buyers enabling this shitty behavior. If no one paid these ridiculous high prices then they would be forced to fall back to a more reasonable price. Of course its in human nature to expect greed whenever the opportunity strikes.

Nintendo try's to stop People selling modded consoles... But at this rate idk if that's even possible anymore.
