Can't sleep well since a few days. Looking for tips.

I suppose the stress and anticipation of installing A9HL put my brain on haywire and that's why I can't seem to sleep more than 3 hours a night since a few days. I thought that once it was done the tension would fall and I'd be able to sleep 12 or so hours straight...but no. Haven't been able to sleep well since saturday either...even if I am on holiday so I should be free of any worries...

I just read the french wikipedia, and it's like I have a lot of the symptoms and I match the way aspergers act or live, without being one myself. (or I don't know I am)
There's probably different level.

Sorry for the offtopic, it was initially about your sleep issue.

would it involve seeing someone else and socializing? I don't go and talk to strangers or go to shops/doctors/etc.
if there's an online test, I could do it.

If your French like me you could call your nearest "Centre Ressources Autisme" but it can take some time to get an appointement...

Well if he wants to know if he has it or not i mean. I guess is interesting to know if he did have it why he wasn't tested sooner. But unlike us who known since before just now is proably not as mindblowing:blush:

I'd like to get formally tested to be sure...I made an appointement for a test at the nearest local autism ressources center but it can be 1 to 3 years before they get back to me...-_-'

Yeah...There are many pepole asking for tests and not many centers throughout France...and I don't know any other place to get the test apart from the Center in Lille...

Well i mean is okay, it never bothered him before. As for some people here being aspergers syndrome, i dunno about them, i do know why i play games and cause is fun. I don't have to do much or listen to anyone rules but i do like to have fun with other people and be apart of something more. sharing it ^_^

You call them, say you wish to get tested, leave your phone number and e-mail and get called back 1 to 3 years later to be informed of the date of your test...

I called before doing my professional training...maybe this year or most likely the one after I'll get called back...

I've been around. Not posting much these days. Things have got a bit on top of me and I've been feeling overwhelmed by life :(

Lol some people have problems ...
I can hardly sleep at all for more than 15 years now ^^V
Takes me about 2-4 hours every night to fall asleep and I wake up from every little noise like someone snoring in the flat down below or some birds singing outside or whatever ....

Usually to get any sleep at all I got to bed at about 8 pm and when my alarm clock rings in the morning at 6 I feel like I didn't sleep at all (and that's not because of to much sleep ;) )

just life with it or maybe do some "new" things ...
I always slept really well when I went abroad for Holidays and do a lot there.
Or when I did renovate my flat or stuff like this.

I have sleep problems every now and then still, but nothing like it was in my teens and twenties. It got so bad I started having seizures and blackouts from fatigue. My insurance dropped around 20,000$, and I payed around 2000$ out of pocket to get a whole bunch of MRI's, Catscans, sleep studies, and home observations done. Turned out I have sleep apnea, and Circadian Rhythm disorder, along with not properly preparing for the nights rest cycle(bad bedtime habits). In hindsight, I suggest this for people who really want to start feeling more rested...
1. Everyone is different, as in no 2 people have the same genetics. What works for some, doesn't work for everyone. This is what the music/no music, tv/no tv during sleep studies show. You have to find the optimal circumstances for yourself.
2. Thoroughly experiment and log(journal) your sleep. The time you lay down, how you felt your sleep was, and how you felt in the morning. Be as detailed as possible, like if you were watching tv, or not, or even if you programmed a sleep timer. If you gamed til you were sleepy, what did you play? How long? What's the last thing you remember?Thermostat temp? Like I said, details. And give each experiment at least a couple days.
3. See if you can either have someone check in on you, and document your shiftiness, breathing, snoring, general appearance, etc. If not, video record a few nights when you can and observe. It can really help diagnose the problem if you have observational evidence.
4. Talk to a reputable doctor. I see many physicians jumping to medications that are potentially habit forming and dangerous. While they may feel your condition is serious enough to warrant medication, you definitely want to avoid your sleep pattern relying on sleep-aids if possible. Some people have found a glass of red wine more effective than Ambien.

Just a little input for those of you who are sick of feeling fatigued and tired all of the time like I did. Sleep is a very important part of healthy cerebral functioning, and overall body health. Don't believe me? Look up Fatal Familial Insomnia.
