Observation of GBATemp 4 years

How to start this...

I am member for many time now... I think time of join was more full of mature people(not teen) who help contribute to board concerning the find of console exploit and full use of system hardware... That time I not make many posting...(was not confident in english communicating thing!) I think I am find this saito when user on 2ch posted something relating of Wii magicon(back up loader?) that is story of originwwwwww

Umm.. now move forward.. to present. This board is now... Hori shitto!

Hmm .. this is not all to say... I want to get very main point.

These last four years.. I go to random board posting and only study reply(read) to understand better meaning of saying and put sentence together? So I study english from this board(not best idea..) but I do not think I can learn this much!!! There are become plenty thing I do not understand like this ”noob” is only said and throw around... Such term I think is of no knowledge to other user or inexperience.. but I do not see the reason behind such word.. it is really meaningless. I will say honest that I can read english at slow pace, but cannot speak such thing. I never try it. I become content and grateful of many memeber here who are contribute and helpful of many thing, please accept my appreciation.

Okay.. time to close door!! Perhaps I am feel less to post because of nature this board has become but will continue to communicate with some people! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

Hmm so I'm not the only one that improved his English by reading blogs and forums :)

Never heard of it but sounds good.

Also while not advised is probably okay to try at least. One reason not to learn from forums is just that people also don't use complete english and can be confusing how we people who speak english themself contradict the idea of it. As we show using acronyms such as LOL and others instead of the sensable "Laughing out loud" To make it clear, is probably why so many misunderstandings are made.

But i prefer if people just speak clearly without acronyms, though people won't do that cuase they find it a way as a shortcut to talking but only works with people who also understand your lingo or slang. In fact it only make things worst cause you will end up explaning it anyway if the person doesn't get it, cause ing more work and time spent on the situation than
to just make it clear as possible on the first comment. :)

Not to mention all the typos that don't get corrected make it harder to read or understand is just combination of things why people are better off with instructor for learning languages.

Is just my opinion really, if your gonna speak to me just be clear first, using acronyms are shortcuts but there is not always the best solution to things and can cause more problems.

I learned to understand and speak english by playing pokemon and watching TV. and i learned to write english by playing a MMORPG. i used to mess up stuff like alot, your/you're, and stuff like that.

@Katsumi San Yes, the English isn't all fluent but it's still learning! It's okay if some of it is slang! I understand about learning though. I'm majoring in linguistics so I speak English, Japanese, and some Chinese. Studying is hard, but you're learning so I'm happy that you can learn some English from here! This community is crazy sometimes, but we all come together and will help each other out! Ganbatte yo!~

@Katsumi San wwwwwww is "lol" in english, and gohan is "rice" or did you just mean gohan as in "asagohan" or something ?
tonikaku, yoroshiku onegaishimasu, eigo de shugyo gambaronee :) (romanji no koto wa sumimasen deshita)

I also kinda pick up english with games, online/books/magazines, tv/movies, music etc. (I'm french but speak german and english)(and a bit of japanese, but I suck at learning kanji)

@Nikki_swap Me too, (My native language is Spanish), But Also learnt because of tv shows, anime, cartoons, music, some other videogames, and because of an unusual friend I have

So i have a question for @Katsumi San
In anime when the original japanese video, when there children in school and they are learning another language, is it always English or sometimes something else?

And if the anime is in english do they teach japanese instead if learning another language? If it so, i think is funny how they switch it depending on the region of the video.

Also why is it in some anime even in japanese, they still use some english words even like in the opening credits music video?

@Sonic Angel Knight Little understand your first question but... How to say... Japanese animation is mostly show(cater?) young japanese audience... School in japan teach student english too but, not a lot. In anime it is choice of author and producer if to include english in programming(likely to teach young kids some english).. Hmm... but correct of question, anime is sometime represent school life. I do not know if other language is teach(perhaps highschool? student choosing). English appear in anime is become "just there" to me. Perhaps not know meaning, but easy repeat!!

Second question... I do not have answer. I do not seen anime in different language. Sorry..

Third question... perhaps answer in first? But this is become choice of singer(artist) to do so.. I do not know reason because I am not artist/singer. I do not mind, sometime english is okay in intro of anime but, perhaps not too much.. audience lose understanding of message of song.

I become have headache try to respond you... I feel like write essay!!

Maybe try dropping the connection between anime and people being Japanese ._. ....Just because someone is Japanese doesn't mean they know tons about anime and vice versa.
