How to...don't stop playing games?

Yes: How to don't stop? :o

You may be wondering : "What are you talking about?"

Simple:
The problematic-cycle here is the following:

1-Play certain game alot (Looks at MK8)
2-Get a new game i was hyped for
3-Get that game either buying it or calling 1-800-YALLNEEDPIRACY
4-Play it between 3 weeks and 2 months
5-Slowly start stopping to play the game and start playing again that other game (MK8)
6-Either that game gets uninstalled or makes dust in my bookshelf
6.5- (Extra part) Get back again at that game i was hyped for and get on it for 3 months. Then repeat 5 and 6
7- Repeat

This also happens with games i was interesed about

I don't want to do this anymore. I have tried focusing in playing another game that's not the same i play everyday but 3 months i fail at it U_U

Have you tried goog-

Solution 1: Get a life.
Aaaand i'm not actually joking, i've not played many games recently because of that.
Sorry if it seems mean, I did put "1" because there is no doubt many others ;)

Your computer can play overwatch. Just pirate it on a SDD. If you have one. Or get some fun little indie games (your computer can play those at the least.)

@Jackus: I do vaporwave memes...So you can say im un-able to get a life :-(

@VinLark : Even if i do it: The cycle would stay there :c

Fucking fire hopping and demon slide. I was so hyped for mk8 back when it was revealed, now it is collecting dust since people no more plays 200cc, the only thing that kept me interested.

rest in pasta mk8, i wasted my time in getting 20k of vr for nothing.

Find: an outdoor activity; a creative hobby; something to learn. Then devote said time you spend playing MK8, doing one or more of these things. This would limit the time you have for playing games and refresh your daily routine, which in turn may make you want to play something else in said time? I like drawing and programming. And I like outdoor stuff like kayaking. Reading outside on my hammock is really nice too. IDK. /shrug

Yeah I recently thought to myself, "I need to be more social". I see my friends at least 5 or 6 times a month. Also do other activities such as jogging, weight lifting, and swimming. It'll attach to ya. As a reward for doing that you can cut slack whenever you have free time.

It sounds like you stop playing the game you don't want to stop playing because it's less interesting than the game you stopped playing to play the game you don't want to stop playing, but ended up stopping playing to start playing the game you stopped playing.

(Let's try this again.)

It sounds like your new game is less interesting than the first game. So why do you want to keep playing the new game?

@UniqueGeek Excuse me while i get a 3-second mental collapse

Because i get hyped for that game and i want to keep playing it and not leaving it collecting dust on my bookshelf :<

Solution : Just decide to stop doing what you do.

I decided that I would stop playing 50 games at the same time and never complete them.
I'm now playing ONE games at a time, and forcing myself to complete it before starting another one.
That's just self control.
I now completed a lot more games these past 5 years.

I'm now also choosing and picking my games more carefully (because I know I "NEED" to complete it before playing other games), so I choose them based on : 1) time to complete it, 2) interest.

I stopped playing random games. That's bad as I don't test as much games as before, but that's a choice I did.

@XavyrrVaati Last time I did, I met my crush... Rose...

But yeah, it works! It gets me... all energetic and stuff!

For single player games that have an ending point, I'd highly recommend setting up a log or list of sorts. It's motivating to finish games and then get to mark em green for done :D
I wrote my own web system for it that I manage through SQL.
There are sites like Backloggery you can use though.

Streaming also helps for me :) it's nice to have people watch and chat, and it also motivates you to keep playing.
