What joy, I found a CRT TV!

so on my way home from paying some bills, I found a CRT TV 17" tall and it works too
only thing is I'm going to need a remote for it to get into Input mode because this brand
doesn't have anyway of doing it unless I have a remote for it. I might just get a universal one though
and see if that works

I'm guessing you're looking to play some retro on it. If you have the time I suggest you seek something like a Sony Triniton. Older games look amazing on it, especially with RGB. :P

Remote options:

1) A proper universal remote
2) A recent Android phone (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S4)
3) A remote from a different TV of the same brand. More likely to work than you might think.
4) Toss that TV and find a new one. In America, you can almost always find a free or very cheap one less than a 20 min drive away.

If you have component cables then CRT's are just about pointless as the component will look many times better on a modern HD Television set
Except maybe for some super retro consoles

I don't have them. I mainly wanted a CRT to get better at competitive melee and to play some Genesis games and some N64 games

crt are good for lag

I have a led 32" for my xbox, but i kept my old crt for my wii/gamecube, because you can play smash a lot better on it!

"you mean the noise it makes when booting up? yeah that gets a bit annoying"
No, I think he meant the noise they make while running. It's about 35-40 Hz (just an estimate)

I love touching CRTs as they boot, tha static electricity .... I grew up with that. It is so awesome. It is the reason why I will never get rid of my desktop (which has 20MB of RAM after a 18MB upgrade I believe).

If you have wii u, can that not work? I use my wii u game pad as a remote. Though i wish they added more features, the input function doesn't work like it should on most tv since my tv has like 6 different ones and it doesn't cycle with a button, but with designated one

AV = 1 or 2
componet = 1 or 2
HDMI = 1 or 2

but still it works as a last option.

Also why would anyone in 2016 want a not hd tv? O_O I could never retrograde my stuff unless very good reason like "No other way" :ninja:
