How I got suspended for creating folders at school

Right, so I got in some shit today at school.

tl;dr:
  • makes a C program to create a shit ton of folders
  • kid shows teacher
  • teacher gets pissed
  • *next class*
  • vice principle comes down to class
  • takes me with her to office
  • wait in office for 2 hours
  • apparently hacking and planning to hijack school site
  • I get suspended for 1 day
  • long weekend after that one day
  • test delayed (chem)
I got a week off!

Good to see those that could charitably be said to have no fucking clue about computers, and how most kids learn to use them, still get to make these sorts of decisions.

Don't let it put you off. Messing around and making silly, ultimately harmless, things like this is a great way to figure this sort of thing out.

i remember a talk with a teacher (woman) i had... we were talking about computers. and i don't remember well the conversation, but i do remember that she was totally conviced one of her students hacked the fbi website in the front of her eyes...
i had the "disbeliefe" face, and she guaranteed me that he did it...
later i found out the guy just used traceroute to fbi website lol....

@Logan I tried telling my principal what cmd was, so he googled 'command prompt' and then a Google search came up 'cmd hacks and tricks!' so he thought I was hacking...

i mean, they are suspending kids for false accusations.. isn't that material for press charges?

In my high-school computer class, it was against the rules to change computer settings. And we all had folders on a network share to store our work. I almost got 2 detentions for making the name of mine blue (by enabling folder compression). I only got out of it because I changed it two years prior to being bound by the teacher's silly rules.

Hilarious, technology illiterates everywhere. Please make computer knowledge mandatory at school so everyone will be somewhat educated about it :P

I made a batch file that printed "hi" on the screen (one time, just to clarify) and got a BSS (building supervised study) for one day.
