My first day of work

Well a few weeks ago my mother asked me if I wanted to work at her work over this spring break for some money. I obviously said yes (This time not for a flashcard for a drumset), and she told me I had to do fileing.

Today was my first day and let me tell you, it was as boring as sin. Thats all I did for 8 hours, filed. I took a half hour lunch break and a 10 minute shit (lol), I took a couple few minute breaks every now and then, but basically it was just 8 hours of mindless zombie fileing. I have 4 more days of this (very fun...) but I guess it is worth it because I want this drumset.

Wish me luck.

How much is she paying you?

You'd probably make more money drop shipping, which takes much less effort and time.

I have a friend who works at a law office doing the exact same thing. From what he's told me, it doesn't really get much more dull than sitting around fiddling with documents for hours on end.

Work sucks.
Atleast you get something non-strenuous.
Every weekend or break - I'll be working out at my uncle's land.
And the bad thing about it - I only get five bucks an hour.

:hateit:

My only advice: let's go to college (so that we can have a better career than this shit).

I learned that I needed to get my University degree when I went to work in physical laborer and such. Man did those days suck...

hehe i'm working at a pizza place, only get 12au$ an hour and work like hell. my shifts go from 3:30pm - 11pm, and i'm working 5 shifts a week. man, be glad to have a 'boring' job!

Oh yeah, I get paid $8 an hour and I work 8 hours a day, what else is pimpin' is that they aren't taking tax from me its gunna be a direct check. So its gunna be a $320 paycheck with no tax taken out, I think we are gunna get the set tomarrow (maybe) and I am just gunna give the pay check (and the $40 I have) to my mom when I get it.

So today was my second day, and honestly it wasn't as bad as yesterday. I think it might partially had to do with that I brought my DS and had a little bit of entertainment.

Also, fileing for 8 hours can do weird shit to you, last night (I fell alsleep really early) I had a dream about fileling... Kind of odd.

At least in a pizza place where you keep busy the time flies by (in my experience) and you can have some fun conversations while working. There is nothing worse than a dull/repetitive job where the minutes crawl by. If you listen close you can hear your brain cells dying.

hmm it depends. i'm more the type that enjoys working alone. and i absolutely can't stand working in a restaurant/kitchen anymore, it just pisses me off. i'd rather go for a fileing job than a fucking pizza place!
enough, this blog is not about my work ; D

Ahhh. Good ol' work. I remember those days. There's not much you can do to make time go faster. Just try to make work enjoyable with the little things matey.

I went to college and all i got was a piece of paper saying I'm certified to sit around and twittel my thumbs

They do let me listen to my Ipod, It died yesterday at around 3PM I still had 2 hours left. I was not a happy man.

If work was fun, they wouldn't need to pay you :)

The best lesson I learned in my life, was that it's fairly easy to go through a small business course and learn how to be the person in the office hiring and firing and making all the money.

Most people think running a business is oooooh so hard. Actually, the only hard part, is learning the right choice of business to run. You get an accountant to manage your books if you can't handle all the numbers. You try to run it out of your home if you can (great for tax purposes, and no need to account for business rent). You get a company car (again great for taxes). You get a company computer (you guys would love that part).
And here's a cool thing, most often you can get a cheap as sin employee through some sort of government help agency that helps people that need work.

There are just sooooo many simple easy businesses to run. The list is actually so long, it amazes me people willingly settle for flipping burgers.
