Being Trans

Is a mental disorder. Get over it and stop making it out to be normal.

ADHD is not normal. I have it, and I have a disorder. I don't want people to think it's normal since it's not very fun to have, and I have to control it.

I have nothing against trans people. They can do whatever the hell they want, I just don't want people thinking it is normal.

It's a disorder for sure and I'm not sure if surgery really solves anything since it increases suicide rates by so very much among people who has had said surgery, but I also do not believe that there's any point in trying to make them feel like an outlier.

What I want to say is pretty much this - They are likely in need of help, but publicly calling them not normal is not helping in any way or shape and is more likely to cause more damage.

That's your view on it, and I disagree.
I would rather say that "being stuck in the wrong body" is the disorder. Being trans is the cure, whether it's just superficial with clothes and makeup, hormone treatment, or fully changing your genitals. To each their own.

I never said anything about 4chan. I'm talking about weird sexual stuff publicly. These parades don't need to exist. Anyone can live a normal life without showing off his/her sexuality, straight or gay.

Still, their choice.

yes, i simply assumed you heard that things happen on these parades in a place thats known to spread lies and nonsense all the time. because they really dont.

and gay pride parades were never about showing off, they began as a way to protest the oppression of alternative lifestyles and have since then, developed into a part of that lifestyles culture.
these parades are one of the reasons that something between many and most gay people can live a mostly normal and accepted life in todays society.

and where exactly did you find that statistic?

There we go.

Minox, thank you for not drinking the Kool-Aid.

It is not personal identity. It is a disorder, something that went wrong in the development of your brain. You can't help it, so do what you must to satisfy yourself.

I just don't want people thinking it's a trait that happens with someone who had a perfect development as a child.
there is no such thing as "perfect" development. You mean standard development. That's like saying that any uncommon feature of a person is a disorder. I'm an introvert. Does that mean my development was messed up?

Basically, you're confusing a defect with a deviation from what we perceive as "standard" development. Or, put another way, if everyone had ADHD, we'd still try and fix it. If everyone was trans, then we wouldn't even be aware of it as being unusual.

Maybe being constantly told they are not 'normal' is also a contributing factor.

As a transwoman, I have to say that I respectfully disagree as being trans has allowed me to overcome the gender dysphoria that I faced for years which was my real illness so to speak.

It is very much a defect.

Defects are not bad, per-say, but you should still try and fix them.

And like I said, it's a treatment for it. Good for you.

Also if we are going to point out mental disorders, what about all the people in the world that think what they're doing right now is okay fall under? they're killing the fucking planet and thinking they're not part of the problem paying taxes to pay for weapons our deranged psychopaths of world leaders think we need to use against each other in the name of peace.

Fuck this race, and fuck those who think that maybe because certain people have decided that they don't fit into this "norm" they have imposed on us they must be "bad in the head". fuck you.

The fact is some of us learn it's a sick sad world earlier than others and because of that we are shunned by the rest of society, and that only goes to show you're all conditioned sheep.

One more thing, on the topic of debate no I don't want to be the other, I am a heterosexual male who exhibits primarily female > male characteristics, I do not accept the stigma that is forced upon us however to be one or the other and be shunned for being yourself, It's a counterproductive ideology.

I would personally consider myself Androgynous though.

Still, at least it's not North Korea.

@Attacker3

Just a short thing I could find fast but regardless the study (or at least how it was portrayed) does not really link transitioning to higher suicide rates.

Since you're using a cure for autism as an argument, tell me, when's the last time you met either an autistic or trans person that wants to be "cured"?

RevPokemon, I forgot to say that in my initial post but going through that page seems to support the notion that it's not a treatment without its issues. Obviously some people feel like they're helped by it, but there's also people who consider it to not have helped with anything at all.

But of course the question is whether it is transitioning or how society treats you when you transition is the cause? Either way the issue is that you people will get the two confused

95% CI? that's pretty lousy by today standards. also, where's the reasonable comparison between gender-reassigned and non-gender-reassigned transgender people?
not to mention a half a dozen alternative explanations, among them societal repercussions once gender reassignment actually happened, the result of hormonal makeup and general body chemistry etc etc?

Are austistic people being brought into question here? please don't there many more "Austism" related people here than LGBT and it almost falls under similar kinds of situations with people saying some people with austism are more likely to turn out this way. Do take caution when discussing matters like this please?
