Not all discrimination is equal

It's been a while since I thought about writing this, and since things keep happening that remind me about it, I'm going ahead.
So, it might be obvious to some, but not all forms of discrimination are equally accepted in society. Discrimination about physical features (wearing glasses, being short/tall etc.) or illnesses is generally despised by most people.
Discrimination about groups of people is where it gets tricky. Racist remarks (especially if heavily so) are also generally frowned upon. Homophobic ones are quite more accepted, but are quickly becoming less so as the LGB rights situation improves, while transphobic and sexist ones (rape jokes and such) are the most accepted. Usually, a trans person can't even point out that a statement is insulting, that it gets labeled as a joke, or that the trans person is seen as "exaggerating", or "being incapable to take jokes".
This also reflects in online communities/chatrooms, since I saw cases where a racist insult results in measures from the staff, while homophobic and transphobic ones barely result in any.

guys, those terror attacks are mainly due to stupidity and lack of education, those morons have no brains.

they have nothing in life anymore and think why not ruin the lives of others.

it dont matter in the end whether their muslims or not, i am a muslim and i loathe any kind of extremism as it sure does only create violence :l

humans will never learn , especially over here in the middle east.. like someone here stated (i think it was sarkwalvein) that for example in saudi arabia that a wealthy ass mofo could easily f**k up your life in case you pissed him off in a way , it is the same shit all over the middle eastern countries.

fu**ing oil money.

When we don't need oil any more, will the middle east quit being fucked up by terrorists and other big nations?

i wonder about that, i dont think it will, the middle east is cursed.

the people here are easy to brainwash i guess, but i think it is the western countries including the U.S that breed these terrorist/rebels around here in the middle east.

buuut i have no idea, f**k politics , most of it is so evil.

If they don't have any big resources that justify other countries playing a proxy war and providing them with weaponry and war resources then they will only be fucked up in a very small scale local level.

What if every nation was able to capture enough solar energy to power itself? How far off is world peace if we don't have to fight for energy?

I think we'd have to get rid of currency first. Renewable energy would be a huge step in that direction though.

I'd like to add that there are still more groups who are constantly attacked or unfairly treated who are not being defended yet because culture hasnt moved to accepting them/attacking discrimination yet. Even if you couldnt think of any, we've been working on fighting discrimination for hundreds of years. I dont believe that these are the final groups that are being unfairly treated. Always think forward and be on the right side of history in these situations even if it is different from what you are used to.

Honestly I think that true communism or at least heavily people-oriented socialism is inevitable as we enter a world that will be dominated by robot labor with valued human workers looking for additional income

I'm impressed. A topic about slurs against peoples sexuality turned in to a discussion about politics, communism and islam.
Then again, I'm not surprised when it comes to this place :P

It's because people care more about discrimination about religion, social structure, and political beleifs. Honestly these millennials need to toughen the fuck up before they get tossed into the real world. Otherwise it's gunna hit them hard.

But...

I'M a millennial...

That must mean... I'm soft?... *cri*

Seriously though how did this blog get dredged up again

@TotalInsanity4 nah, you always seem hard to me.. wait..
