Should I complete all the shrines in BotW? *POLL*

So I'm guilty as charged, bashed other players for completing or trying to complete all the shrines as no life losers. However, I've played the game since 3 days after release and I find myself having complete 90 shrines. If there are only 120, I'm getting up there. Close enough to make me consider beating them all (I never thought I'd find this many but yeah I've got 15,000 rupies in the bank with all kinds of clothes, I've played a lot). Thing is, I think I have found most (but not all) of the fairly easy to find, out in the open or not too badly hidden shrines. It's probably mostly shrine quests and nasty hidden ones at this point. So the work to finish the last 30 is gonna be harder per shrine than the first 90 that came naturally to me with normal play. And I may need a guide to help me.

So I gotta ask, should I complete them all, or not?

(I've got like 100 korok seeds, and no way in hell am I going for 900, I just do the ones I bump into and also know how to solve)

i managed to get 106 on my own couldn't find any more than just got bored. i don't need full hearts anyway to beat ganon.

I say go ahead and try, no harm in it right?

I generally try to complete most things within reason in Zelda games; All masks in MM, All upgrades and gold skulltula in OoT, full map and gear in WW and whatnot. But to everyone their own.

You should definitely use a guide though if the game is becoming dis-interesting or frustrating when you can't find one or more of them. Games are meant to be fun, not aggravating. ;)

I think you should try to complete them cause there is only 30 left :)
Investigate a little more and if you're totally stucked, use a guide or this map: https://zeldamaps.com/?game=BotW

However, it is useless to find 900 seeds xD
It is too much and an artificial way to gain hours...

I'm not mad at nintendo for putting in 900 korok seeds. They had to put that many in for the hardcore completists, and also it makes it so that no matter what areas you decide to explore, you'll get enough seeds to adequately expand your accessory slots. I'm sure most players that have in my playtime will have 100 korok seeds or more (if not using guides), and we will all have many different map location seeds. Nintendo knew it'd be like that. They expect a lot more players will complete all shrines than seeds (and considering how much more work goes into making the shrines, the game makers should hope for this lol)

i only managed to get about 213 seeds can't be assed getting any more of them either. i'm afraid this games time is coming to an end soon for me. o well back to the pc

I'd say, once it's not as fun/adventurous anymore, hang it up. Come back to it in some months/years for another playthrough if you want. And most of us diehards have a date with some DLC quests, for sure! I actually think nintendo will make another zelda game on this engine within 2-3 years, because it is selling better than they thought (and moving serious hardware)

The reason I'd like more hearts is to beat those damn centaurs. Take like 10 hearts in a blow, and I'm gonna have to view some fights on youtube to see if people can really shield parry and flurry doge over and over again without fail, I've never been able to pull that off. Success rate maybe 50 percent on shield and less than that on flurry dodge.

Play how u wanna play.
I dont use guides unless im stuck on something for days.

But to 100% the game your have to use guides. Its nornally always something you miss

900 is still a bit much IMOP. I think they could have done other things to make the game more immersive such as:

1.) Having forges to repair / upgrade weapons and shields, ( metal ones. Putting a stick in a forge wont make it better)
2.) Make your own arrows. ( Have them almost never drop )
A.) Different sticks
B.) Different feathers
C.) Different heads
3.) A lot more recipes.
4.) A lot more side-quests.
5.) Hunger meter.
6.) Thirst meter.

I believe all of this would have made the game better, and really, the reward for finding all 900 is more of a slap in the face. You should get the maracas, and they should give more damage than the master sword.

Hunger meter! Ala Ultima 7 lol. whiny party members had to be fed to shut up em! I think they pretty much had the realism at the right levels, too realistic and it becomes a tedious chore and not fun. So they break realism with things like massive backpack storage, climbing any surface, magic kite glider, shield surfing, to make things easier and more fun.

If you like the other Zelda games with the actual dungeons, why not? Some of the shrines are pretty long, and a few of them are kinda smart.

I've had about 93 shrines the started using the map. Until 100 or so it was fun but then it got tedious especially the "wait for blood moon!" Shrine.
Now i finished 120 and it was not worth it AT ALL. Killed ganon without upgrading inventory so i couldn't care less about the korok spam.

Beating all the shines supposedly lets you get a secret armor from a temple full of guardians, and without doing that you can't get the armor. Beating Ganon is easy, the focus of the game is more of your journey up to Ganon, rather than just killing him.

I got 112 on my own, then used the map. Thing is, the map itself doesn't really help you sometimes, as the way to the shrine may not be where the actual shrine is. So, it's not like you'd be spoiling yourself completely.

Fuck the seeds, though. Got about 70 and plan to get exactly 0 more.

It's the shrines that make the game I would have been happy if the game was just 900 timed puzzle shrines.

I did it.

Seriously, do it if you want more warp locations, the ability to skeet your MS further, and to challenge yourself figuring out some of the Kass Quests, as well as the shrine(s) itself/themselves.

The majority of seeds are usually encountered from free exploration and take very little time to obtain. The way they have the game set up is that no matter where you go, you'll always be rewarded for going there. Even climbing around the side of a seemingly barren hill on the edge of the map will usually give you access to one or two rare ore deposits.

Yes, but why would I take the time to climb every single tree and stuff? I cleared the game easily without all the extra seeds, anyway.

I think the whole point of having 900 seeds is to have it more available when your free roaming rather than having to go through selective areas. You don't need all of them but they are made more accessible that way

Doing all the shrines isnt even a challenge. I did it twice technically (had to start my game over)

The real challenge will be getting all those Korok seeds.

Dont forget to mention only 441 of the seeds are usable for upgrading. The rest is purely for collecting.
