Why are Americans so freaking sensitive

*Disclaimer* if you get offended by anything I say, that is not my attention however, you'll be proving my point.

I've been thinking lately (a dangerous pastime I know) but I've noticed that Americans are extremely sensitive. What ever happened to "suck it up" or "get over yourself"? For example I have said that I do not agree with homosexuality but I still am friends with and love homosexual people despite me not agreeing with this lifestyle, of course I was still called homophobic and got a lot of hate by some pansies who couldn't respect other people's thoughts. Another example is the is viewpoints on celebrities and the like. I've noticed people being unnecessarily bashed for not liking a generally liked person or vice versa. The most extreme example is something I saw today. There was a video of a photographer being observed by a young elk. It showed mildly hostile behavior as it would bend it's head down and buck the man who was sitting on the ground. He stayed down so he wouldn't upset the elk and he got away unharmed. The elk was later put down for "repeated aggressive behavior". At least 80% of the comments said that the man had performed animal abuse because the elk was put down even though he did absolutely nothing to harm it. People went as far as to say that the man should have been put down. This begs the question. What causes us Americans to be so easily offended and hate others just because they differ in opinion? What do you guys think?

can we go back to making fun of americans its more fun

Lmao so fat they need a electric wheelchair to go shopping
lmao their president is a oompa loompa
lmao rednecks

It's not america's fault.
These sorts of people can be found in any western nation, they're not the majority but they're very loud.
Milenials, leftists, and just overall stupid people.

They keep crying out for free speech while trying to remove free speech.

same thing happened to me i told people i dont agree to homosexuality but idk if my friends are homo and the entire school thinks that i hate them

@Beerus They exaggerate on purpose. I stopped caring after a while, I say whatever I want to. My grades have been destroyed, the teachers hate me, and the school is doing everything in it's power to stop me from forming my own opinions.
I still have friends who fortunately aren't pussifying and falling for their bullshit, I wanna fuck them over, even if it means my graduation gets delayed by a couple of years. Life is more than this, we have to fight these assholes so we can get our freedom back.

@Pacheko17 That is just sad,

F em over, Not to preach, but, this is why homeschooling is better, Not really any interaction with people.

It's stupid, They get SO offended if you don't agree with them, or don't do something thats related to that, story time.

My older sister feels the same way on the subject, but she had friends that were homo, and she did anything for them, like she would for anyone.
So one day, She was asked if she would go to a gay pride parade, she said no, it's not what she believes in, She doesnt think it's right.
They hated her for it, my sister did anything they asked her to.

It is stupid, You don't take an atheist to mass, even if I asked one, I wouldn't be offended, it's not what they believe in.
I am not going to force it.

Just because someone doesn't believe in homosexuality personally doesn't mean they think everyone else should be like them and be straight. Most I've seen don't care if others are homosexual, they just don't believe in it for themselves. I've heard a lot of people getting persecuted for this kinda viewpoint, but I've never seen it firsthand.

Also if I can find it later I'll share the survey taken at berkley recently about free speech. Pretty interesting stuff.

I disagree. Here in Brazil people are damn sensitive too.

Calling someone "n****" would be pretty much taboo and frowned upon here.

Around 68.000 men were murdered last year in this god-forsaken country, but the fact that 200 LGBT people were murdered is the only to make it to the headlines.

Being a snowflake is turning into a career option for some it seems.

I think this phenomena of what north americans call "liberal thought" is happening in many places around the world, along with the both the conservative and libertarian thoughts getting momentum as a form of counter-culture I guess.

One of the favorites for next year presidential bid here is a far-right conservative army captain who has great praise for Donald Trump, even though they have very little in common IMO.

@rileysrjay The way I see it, it's fine if someone is uncomfortable with homosexuality but recognizes that they will at some point interact with gay people, and are not actively rude to or harassing them and just generally respect their existence. It's another thing entirely for someone to claim they're a member of a tolerant religion, but then would turn around and vote to take away marriage rights, healthcare, etc. from people just because of their sexual orientation, and I certainly hope that's not where anyone in this post sits

BTW I'm a libertarian and leaning towards capitalism along with personal freedoms and rights, but as much as I sympathize with minorities I can clearly see some people taking advantage of this.

@TotalInsanity4 I really doubt anyone here would make stupid decisions in votes/life because people of there sexuality do/ want them to. Anyways there are some hardcore religious people who actually say they're ok with homosexuality on the outside but would vote in a heartbeat to get rid of homosexuality. But those are few and far between, probably the same ones that truly thought the world was going to end over the weekend. But most people I know wouldn't politically go out against someone who's homosexual because they don't believe in it personally. Most I know kinda have a "it's your life, I dont care what you do as long as it doesn't affect me personally" viewpoint.

The Trump situation is the more the "2 party phenomen" than anything.
Literally every year the president is either republican party or democratic party.
There never was anything else.
(Unless im wrong, after all im not american so I dont have as much information).

White people's problem. Op is too sensitive aswell. If you don't like homosexual, just don't give a shit if they like it or not. Get some balls and have your own opinion, without fear of being disagree.
