What do you do to cheer yourself up?

For some reason I seem to always be in a sad mood, and even when I try to do stuff I normally enjoy I can't get into it and have fun with how draged down I am. I'm starting to get scared as people are starting to mention it and ask. What am I becoming...

I'll mastrubate, play video games, put my thoughts on paper, and listen to music. Especially music that I can directly relate to my problems.
 
@jt_1258 Look up Alestorm, Northland, Korpiklaani, Eluveitie. All good examples. Look up stuff like 'Nine Treasures' or 'Tengger Cavalry' if you want really obscure oriental folk metal.
 
A lot of the things mention here are only of temporary relief. This is fine if you know it's just mood swings however if you keep feeling down all the time then there might be some underlying issue. (sounds like there is some underlying issue here)

I would suggest you examine your life, where you are, where you want to be and see if you are happy where you are. If not start to work on those goals. Might not also be a bad idea to visit a counselor as they can help you with your depression.

but you are (partly) discussing it with strangers right now . . . and none of us are trained to listen and interpret
 
well, I know some of you more than a therapist I would have litearly just met on the spot
 
Therapists are basically just people you pay to have listen to you. They're rarely helpful, in my experience.

Being focused can cheer anybody up. Have an aim, a purpose. Those without purpose tend to feel this way regularly.

what i find usually helping me the best is..
well for instance there are days where i really feel like doing nothing, and everything in life looks dull to me and boring , i basically go into a depressed state and here what i find helping me the most is.... SLEEP !

C: sleep always helps me the most hehe.
 
Is this possibly depression I'm going through? tbh it has to be one the outcomes of all this I'm scared of most but it unfortunately seems to be edging up closer and closer as more and more of an unfortunate possibility...
 
@jt_1258 if you do not find 'ANY" joy at all in things you usually like ,for instance gaming or swimming or whatnot.
then yes you are probably suffering from some sort of depression, i suffer from mild depression too.

like sometime i find absolutely nothing in this world fun, like when a girl has her period and becomes moody (this is how i feel at times).

and i think it is mild depression, not deep because it does not happen too often thankfully, but when it does it sucks like i really usually play quite often but then like one day in the week or so i feel like doing 'NOTHING' !
and when this happens i usually am laying down and i feel sort of down and depressed, and unless i sleep i won't feel any better.

*sigh* keep your head up mate you are not alone, just gotta keep ourselves distracted with things we like that is all ! ^^
