Arch Linux(and why I like it so much)

THIS IS NOT A JOKE BLOG, if you wanna shitpost, go to EoF

It hasn't been much time since I tried Arch Linux(March 2017), so I guess it is enough time to find a good reason to keep using it instead of distro-hopping.
Also 15 blog entry wee :toot:

Well here are some real reasons and not those 1337 #4x0r ones kiddos find to look c00l, and trust me, I don't like them

1) It is lightweight
It doesn't consume much of my machines resources, considering my PC is shit, sooooooo

2) It is(easily) customisable
It is just the CLI, you install it yourself, doing modifications to your liking, and then it is yours, you can do whatever you want, tweak it to the bone etc

3) It is a great way to learn about how a Linux distribution works
You are in charge on keeping your machine working, and all this knowledge you gained from using and maintaining Arch Linux can be used into other distros as well, so it is a great learning point

4) It is Anti-Stallmanist
It includes proprietary firmware, enough to piss off RMS /s

5) You don't need to compile the whole distro to make it customisable
*cough* Gentoo *cough*

And that concludes this blog entry

And the frickin AUR
Plus the package manager is great

The only thing i really bitch about arch is that it use systemd and you can't really change it
Other than that i like it

These are of course meant, so

6) The AUR
You can find anything you want here,it just needs compiling(sometimes)

7) Powerful package manager
Pretty much self explanatory

@FAST6191 It takes less than an hour to setup. It's 15 minutes for me, less on my laptop with an ssd.

@EthanAddict Ubuntu has a minimal image you can use, which is pretty much based on the Debian netinst image. You choose what you want when setting it up, sans manual partitioning and stuff like Arch. Don't get me wrong. I use Arch on all of my machines, but for more casual people, the ubuntu minimal image is great.

I tried to get into it, but sadly, even after I thoroughly followed the instructions, I managed to break it twice.
I personally don't find it worth when you spend several hours to make it work, and finally break it entirely.
Or maybe I'm just spoiled and I love when everything works out of the box.
