I ate a habenero pepper.

so yeah, me and my bud did a habenero pepper challenge for his YouTube show and I ended up wanting to throw up half the day. I highly suggest against similar endeavors. That is all, I just wanted to share. What stupid things did y'all do recently?

Diced up small with a bunch of other food it can be good, but eating one straight I didn't almost barf, I immediately barfed. Prefer one step down on the spicy scale.

E
sounds fun
if you do it again I sugest not chewing the seeds and drinking milk afterwards
in spicey peppers the seeds are usually the spiciest and milk helps more than anyother drink
@Lilith Valentine where do you buy ghost peppers?

The worst part is that habaneros aren't even that spicy. There are far hotter chilis.
I chopped up some habaneros once and it was spicy enough to make my fingers burn for hours. If it can make my fingers burn I worry about what it would do to my mouth and throat if I ate it raw.

I feel for ya, I had a ghost pepper one time and my mouth felt like crap for two days, not to mention the throw up feeling you get for the first couple of hours.

You gringos got it all wrong.

You're not supposed to eat one whole, thats just dumb. You chop it into little pieces and hide it in the guiso (I dont know how to say that in english...The meat I guess?)

I originally wanted to do it with ghost peppers... I don't understand how some people can eat them whole. P.S. I know I'm not supposed to eat one whole. It was for comedy

I'm quite partial to hot food. In fact, I collect hot sauces. All kinds from various kinds of sriracha to stuff like Blair's. My current thing is trying to obtain the Last Dab from Hot Ones; it's made using Pepper X, the hottest in the world.

The mistake is normally drinking milk, since it doesn't help after you ate the pepper. Drinking it before coats your mouth and throat and helps greatly with the heat.

how hot can u take?? tc, now get to chinise's store and try ZSECHUAN sauce!!

@leon315 I've had a Carolina Reaper before, those are pretty damn painful.

True, but depending on the strength of the food/sauce you're eating, it doesn't offer the best relief. Capsaicin is a powerful enzyme, it isn't washed away quite as easily. You need something much more alkalic, ice cream or a thick yoghurt would likely help more than milk.
