Trigger Warning (Hot Button Issue)

Back in August of this year I accepted that I'm actually Transgender. I've slowly been coming out to friends and family since then and so far everyone has been accepting thankfully. Even my boyfriend is okay with it. I identify as Gender Fluid, my pronouns are whatever he/she/they and I prefer the nick name I've always had anyways Chris, as its gender neutral anyways. I know that posting this on here is putting myself at risk for receiving a lot of flack, but after seeing other's do the same here I've decided that if other's can do it, than so can I. My LGBT therapist wants me to write/journal to help ease my Gender Dysphoria (just to clarify being transgender is NOT a mental illness), but the emotional distress experienced by someone who's body doesn't match how they feel inside CAN be severe enough to be considered a mental illness. I'm one of those people who actually suffer from Gender Dysphoria. I'm sure my therapist (for safety reasons) probably didn't mean for me to be writing about this publicly online but I feel its something I have to do to really get it off my chest.

For anybody who disagrees with the "transgender lifestyle" or however you want to address it, I'm all for an intellectual debate on the issue but if you're going to just troll or resort to profanity and straight up nasty bigotry then don't waste your time typing a response here. This is something I've been secretly struggling with for all 30 years of my life and I'm finally coming to terms with it and dealing with it. I don't need anybody's destructive criticism, I provide enough of that to myself, thanks.....

You just keep thinking that! You will see....
The road for you people is only gonna get darker! I promise that!
The human race fights to stay relevant and alive, so I doubt that will happen.

Self infatuation? No, it’s self loathing. Did you even read the OP? And assholes like you make it worse, telling them to go back in the closet as soon as they come out. Fuck you and everything you stand for you piece of shit.

Take a hike and let the big boys straighten things out around here!
Unfortunaley you are unable to even handle the scope of reality.
If the truth hurts....

You’re gay aren’t you. It’s fine, no one cares. I mean you did say you wanted the big boys to straighten you out....

Intentionally misgendering someone to trigger them doesn't make them a pussy, it makes you an instigating piece of shit.

Anyways LGBT people are much stronger than straight people because they were tough enough to come out. Something that homophobic and transaphobic fuckers don't have the balls to do if they were gay, or wanted to change genders.

And the whole "stop forcing your choices on me" thing is bullshit. Conservative internet trolls say that whenever they see an LGBT person/couple. What if everyone started telling them to stop forcing their heterosexuality on us?

Good for you! That took a lot of courage to admit and to come out. You have all my support.

By the way, there's only one opinion that should matter when it comes to recognizing this as a mental issue and that's your doctor, therapist or anybody who is in charge of your health, where biological facts matter more than feelings. What scares me is that, one day, political correctness will be so heavy that law will require doctors to treat you as what you recognize yourself to be. That's very dangerous and I could see this behavior a little bit in this comment section when a few people commented against WeedZ's comment.

That doesn't mean you can't consider yourself another gender than the one you have with the rest of the world, though. It's not being fake, it's being what we really are on the inside. As humans, we've got this privilege of truly being what we can be. Never be ashamed of who you are. Who you think you are. Best of luck with your therapy.

Why would anybody want to be another gender? If you aint happy with yourself, then do something positive to change that attitude.

@Dpad
1st of all I am NOT gay and never would want to be, pussy tastes too good!
The past 2 years, its been crammed down our throats and told we better like and deal with it. I REFUSE! Im not gonna have my Government tell me what I need to do... I dont even listen to my mom, let alone some fear mongering drunk on power governent beaurocrats.

I am straight, white, christian male, a patriot 100% and bleed red!
This world is fucked if you actually believe that we are the miniority now!

@Cylent1 did you just say the government doesn't have the right to tell people that they don't have the right to tell other people what to do?

Cylent1 I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you hate Muslims. By your logic, Muslims are justified in turning violent and becoming radicalized because of the hate they received. Don't you think?

I agree that many people are trying to shove things in your throat that you don't like. I had the same issue with a famous subreddit, /r/Blackpeopletwitter, when they started posting tweets of the ex president Obama and his family, treating him like God. Clearly liberal propaganda. You can still see in the top submissions of that subreddit a huge amount of tweets like that.

I don't like Obama for various reasons, between the war, Obamacare and the giant troll of the "kid with the clock". You know what I did? I stopped visiting that subreddit. Never talked about it until now.

What you're doing is commenting a blog post. Not even news from the homepage, just a blog post. You're the one shoving things down people's throat, as everyone else sent compliments and best wishes. You mentioned that you're Christian. How would you act if someone wrote a blog post about converting to Christianity and someone just kept writing that religions suck and he's doing a terrible mistake? Wouldn't that be a bad behavior?

I hope you are a reasonable person and can think about the way you're acting right now. No one deserves to be treated the way you're treating this person.

All I have to say is that I should've seen the next world war coming as a result of this post lol.

I'm okay if people disagree with it, as long as you remain civil about it. Certain people here, chose to blatantly ignore that statement, apparently.

As for being transgender being an 'illness' or 'disorder' I was referring to how it's now classified in the US, according to the APA. The same goes for Gender Dysphoria. I understand that people have a difference of opinion on the matter and certain countries may categorize these terms differently, but there's no need to attack one and there.

Intelligent debate=Good vicious profanity and mudslinging =childish

@Cylent1 I'm also a Christian and you know who's helping me through this time as well? My pastor, because she may be no expert on the subject, nor does she claim to be, but she recognizes that people do not simply choose their gender identity or sexual orientation. It's something handed to each individual....

@TeamScriptKiddies furthermore (since I'm formerly Christian and studied stuff like this), remember that biologically speaking, it's impossible for a virgin birth to result in a male child, which would have to mean that either Jesus himself altered his gender for maximum impact in the time period or God altered it in the womb for the same reason. There's also Matthew 19:12, that effectively says that to the Kingdom of Heaven, genitalia aren't relevant at all in terms of gender, and people who think otherwise should suck it up

There's also two separate quotes in The Bible from Jesus himself where he explains that some Eunich' s (an umbrella term used in biblical times to describe people who fell outside of gender norms) are born that way and that those who are able to comprehend this, should be accepting of it.
Id have to dig for the exact quotes and where to find them (it's been a while tbh), but I would be willing to track them down and post them here for anyone who's interested. I've also cross referenced it across multiple versions of The Bible myself and while the quotes have been translated slightly differently, they all carry the same meaning.

Also from a biology standpoint, we all start out in the womb as female, and a number of different factors determine whether or not we stay female or become male, including hormones, chromosomes etc. The general consensus is that something goes wrong during this process which cause a mismatch and/or fluidity for some people between gender identity and biological sex.
