Does it feature a campaign mode like brawl? If not I’m no longer interested

I could sort of see this bothering some people for a heavily story/secret driven affair but for something like Smash Brothers? Is it not something basically all people kind of have to play to get major enjoyment from?

It isn't really fun to get the story mode cutscenes spoiled.

@blujay With the leaked cutscenes you at least know for sure that there was no reason to get hyped about the story mode at any time.

No one is forcing you to watch the cutscenes, and who cares if it leaked 2 weeks or even 2 days early. Either way people are gonna download it and put a huge dent in sales. Btw, the game is amazing, so glad I downloaded it

Besides, what are the leaks for? Cutscenes of Kirby fighting alongside Pikachu?
I mean, come on, just think about it, only major "leak" the game can have at this point in time is to know what are the DLC characters, that's all.
Anything related to the so called "Spirits" bullshit or Anus of Light or whatever it's called is jackshit in terms of story. Just excuses to get characters fighting.

@ShadowOne333 So, say that one of your favorite franchises of games got its next release leaked out 2 weeks early. Would you be fine with that because it is just a stupid game and the greedy company that made it is charging 60 U.S. dollars to purchase it new. Or would you be defending the game because you like the series.
The reason why people are ticked off that Smash Ultimate got leaked along with all of the cutscenes is because Sakurai didn’t include a story mode in the Wii U version of Sm4sh due to the cutscenes potential of all the cutscenes being leaked. Now imagine being Sakurai, and watching all of the hard work he has put into this game, all the love, lack of sleep, etc., be leaked out 2 weeks before anyone was supposed to see all the surprises that were in store for us. Think of how frustrating and annoying all of that must be for him and the dev team.
Now for all of the other people saying how almost all of the game was spoiled for us from all of these Nintendo Directs. It was clearly going to be spoiled now, so why not just release the news officially, and get us all hyped up for the game.

Lol story mode? More like a useless grindy collect em all mode, there is little story beyond the opening cutscene that was already shown in the smash direct, its grindy and boring, map design is pulled straight out of a zelda game, you'll see when you get to play it, has the most inconsistent difficulty I have ever seen in a fighting game story mode, its just another smash game and it will sell millions of copy as usual, the game does nothing innovative its the exact same formula as the past 4 games, aside from being more polished and have a complete roaster at launch compared to previous titles there's not much else this game has to offer.

@Treeko I'm not sure what you expected, that they were going to change Smash Bros into a shooter? "It doesn't have anything new...except 25+ new/returning fighters, short hops, directional air dodges, perfect shield, more stages, different modes, and it's releasing on Switch instead of WiiU so it isn't DoA...but other than that absolutely nothing new."

This collectathon makes me happy, does my opinion count too? Or is the internet just about negativity?

@Xzi Sure it adds old characters back to the roaster and a few new stages, modes cannot be counted as most modern fighting games allow you to make custom playlists, but what if all this old content added to a "new" game was sold to you as new from a different publisher other than Nintendo for which they charged you a full price of 60$+more for dlc, said game would be critically panned on launch day, people need to wake up and realise there is way too much bias towards nintendo in this industry, this game does nothing new compared to its old outings thats a fact.

@Treeko You're living in a fantasy land if you think Smash Ultimate is low quality for the price. It's not an EA title or Fallout 76, FFS. Ultimate is going to be a main attraction at tournaments for years to come, if not a decade or so.
