The Story how i started with Nintendo

My first Nintendo Console was the Gameboy Advance SP, that i got at the Age of 3.
I had really fun with my Gameboy Advance. Games that i played were: Mario Kart Super Circuit, The Legend of Zelda the Minish cap(at the Age of 4-5. Which was my very first Zelda that i played), Mega Man Battle Network: blue moon(even if i could not understand a bit, because the Game was in English),Donkey Kong(Gameboy), Mario Land 1 (Gameboy), Pokémon Red Edition(which my Father bought on a Garage sale, but the Save battery was dead and so it could not Save anymore) and Wario Land(Gameboy). Some of the Games were getting "lost" like Wario Land, Mario Land 1, that Pokémon Red Cardrige and The Legend of Zelda the Minish cap (which i found again in the Basement in a Box 2017).
And then some time, i lost the Charger for my GBA (i buyed a new one on a Garage sale 2017) which means, that my GBA was (after it happend) in a "deep sleep", until i charged it again. I still Play on my GBA to this Day.

Later on, my Father bought a Nintendo 64(with a Rumble Pack, that still works) for my Brother and me.
On the N64 i played my very first 3D Mario, Super Mario 64. I loved that Game.
Back then i could not gether all 70 Stars (and so could not "officially" beat the Game) my Sister helped me to make a Backward Long Jump(BLJ) in the Room, where the final Stage was. Then on the Final Bowser, i could not defeat him by myself (my Brother helped me). Later, 2018 i beated the Game (but this time how it was intended with 70 Stars). I had many Games for the N64 (this time no one got "lost") Games i have: Super Mario 64, Pokémon Stadium 2, Blast Corps (a favorite), Bomber man 64 and the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time(which i never played until 2018) (and many more). I still have the N64, hooked at my TV.

And then (3-4 Grade in School) i got the Nintendo Wii. I knew the Wii before , because Mosses(a Shop in Germany) had back then a Console for public testing (with i think it had Wii Sport resort) you could back then even buy Wii games here (in the former Toy-section). i got my Wii in a Bundle with Mario and Sonic at the olympic games London 2012 (which is also the Game, that introduced to a Musical masterpiece but that's a story for another day) i had really fun with that Game (especially with Table Tennis, Beach Vollyball and that mario galaxy style game). Later i got Super Mario Galaxy 1+2, New Super Mario Bros Wii, The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword, Mario Kart Wii and many more. Where The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword was my favorite, because it was for me (back then) amazing that you could use your Wii remote to control link's sword. But sadly, i gave the Games (Mario Kart wii, Zelda Skyward Sword and New Super Mario Bros Wii) away, to someone that said that i would get the Game i always wanted(but i was fooled and now i don't have these Games anymore).

Then in the Year 2013, when the Wii U was 1 Year old, i tought that the Wii U would be something similar, what the switch is today. I got the Wii U for christmas(along with Sonic and Sega allstars racing transformed), want to turn it on and play something. But it needed a Update and it took decades to finsh. I had fun in Miiverse (and my grammer was trash back then) and wonderd, what Nintendo TVi used to be (because when i clicked on the Icon, it showed an Error that this service is not availible in Europe).

And now, 2017 on March 3th the Nintendo Switch was released along with Zelda Breath of the Wild. I wantend that Game, because i watched a Let's Play by a German YouTuber and that Game looked so good. One Day before my Birthday, my Mother called a Taxi to drive us to Koblenz (Germany) and there, we walked into Mediamarkt (A Computer Store in Germany) and buyed a Black Nintendo Switch plus Zelda Breath of the Wild for 390€ (440,56$) (Nintendo Switch was at 329€ (371,65$) and Zelda Breath of the Wild was around 60€ (67,78$)) then we called a Taxi to drive us back home and it was 100€ (112,96$).Overall it costed 490€ (553,53$!).

So, that was a real long Text for the first time posting here!

There are People that say "for my brother and I" (für meinen Bruder und ich)? I just written that how it is in German "Für meinen Bruder und mich" so for my Brother and me.

@saltyCake Nice story.

“My first Nintendo Console was the Gameboy Advance SP, that i got at the Age of 3."
This statement makes me feel sooooo old.

Hopefully your N64 works stable because some power supplies have failed capacitors by now.

“Pokémon Red Edition(which my Father bought on a Garage sale, but the Save battery was dead and so it could not Save anymore)”
Now that’s not really common. Must have been a bad battery from factory on or really badly stored cartridge. Normally the only games with drained batteries are those with internal clock (Pokemon second/third generation, some Harvest Moon game). SRAM really needs very little energy. In my collection are SRAM batteries older than 30 years – still working.

"for him and I" etc is wide-spread. People probably were told to not say "Me and my friends" (which is grammatically incorrect!) and thought you should always write "I" instead of "me" when there are multiple pronouns.

What is your opinion regarding first person shooters on Wii? (the control method) BTW

Wow. I did not had any Problems with my N64 (except that it used to not Function with Zelda Ocarina of Time. But this problem is solved) (i should turn it on again and play something, because the last time using it was 2018.) But thanks for the Info! I didin't heard about it until now.

I must be a "lucky" one back then, if it was not Common.

I did not play any First Person Shooter on the Wii. I only played a "Minigame" in Nintendo Land, which was a First Person Shooter (Metroid) on the Wii U. You could control the Cheracter with a Wii Remote or with the Gamepad. The Controls with the Wii Remote was "OK", but im not really into First Person Shooters (so i can't give a professional Answer). Sorry

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.
