So no one told you life was gonna be this way *aggressive clapping*

Hello, my name is Nerdtendo, I am recently 17 years old, and I'm starting to realize life isn't getting a whole lot easier. Of course, there's stressful things such as school, college applications, work, extra curriculars, etc; but there are also girls! Ah yes girls. Those incomprehensible beings that are always the topic of stress for a 17 year old boy.

I've been dating this girl for almost 10 months and I would no longer like to. Unfortunately, this girl still really wants to keep dating me. She's a nice girl too, I'm just not in a good place to be with her. I also have to take her to prom which isn't until March 30th so I can't break up with her soon.

Things are super duper stressful. Sometimes I kinda want to cry (I've done a good job of not crying so far however). Sometimes I feel a little lonely. I don't have a lot of good friends, but I'm usually fine with this because I'm introverted as he*k. However, some days I start brooding and feel all alone. I know there's a guy upstairs who has my back and I'm super grateful for that because I would probably be legitimately depressed without that reassurance.

That's really about it. I know most of my dramatic blogs are incoherent but I really just need a place to put this stuff down. I also am aware that *maybe* one person will actually care and that's okay. Like I said, I'm being dramatic.

That is all. Goodnight.

Do you want to go to prom? If you don't, why not just tell her that. She will probably appreciate knowing now rather than you leaving it too late for her to find someone else. She might just be dating you so she is certain of having a date.

Also, if she finds out you really weren't into her for ages while you were dating, and you were only pretending, that will really hurt her self-confidence and self-esteem. You're not doing her any favours by dating her when you don't want to.

More communication is always better than less!

Also you should enjoy being a kid still with little responsibility. Have fun, have adventures, make the most of it! Don't do things you hate just because you think you should (unless you really really should like not driving drunk or bullying people...). Your childhood will be ending very very soon and you don't get a second chance to live it.

if you need to cry, then cry, it's only bad to cry when you do it every night.

I was gonna write a lot, but then @Quantumcat posted, and it's pretty much it.

one more thing, if you are going to let her down, let her down slowly. Tell her how you feel, and that (I think, and I hope) that you guys can still be friends. It sounds like, you just don't want to be in a relationship, not to a point that you just don't like her, you just don't want anyone close right now. So, ALWAYS be nice. Be sweet to her in return. tell her all, and hope that she understands. You need to tell everything, so if it's taken the wrong way, you will know that you are not at fault, and you tried your best.

Well, I accidentally broke up with her last night. It was really painful and pretty messy but we came to the conclusion that we just wanted to start over. Before we dated we were best friends and I think we're both going to be fine with trying that again. No more stigmas. @Quantumcat and @Deonaught thanks for the encouraging words. One day I'll figure this out.

Clicked for the Friends reference, stayed for the drama. It's good that the situation resolved itself for the most part. Many, many high school relationships are learning experiences, so you should hold your head up, and know that you've learned some things for your next potential relationship.

What Time is it? Time to Grow UP! That Can Be One of the Hardships of Life. Take nothing and No One For Granted! It is good that you have acknowledged the Man upstairs but you should get to know him because he knows everything about you and where you are and he can tell you or provide for you when you need it He will never let you down even if you let Him down No matter what comes and goes in your Life know that He has always been there from the start and still is and forever will be God Bless.

@CORE
Amen. Growing up is hard but I think it's about time I man up. God's taking care of me and I'm gonna let him take control of this situation.

Welcome to the horrible, hard, unfair, shitty but brilliant world of starting to become an adult.....

..... It gets better. Especially once you get to the point where you realise you just don’t give a shit what people think.
Then you really start enjoying life the way it should be :D

I want a handheld gaming system with a tablet sized screen, like a 8 or10" screen, with controllers that can detach like the Switch.

@BigOnYa i was legitimately trying to scratch my leg, this is reminding me of that cylinder post
  • Scarlet @ Scarlet:
I don't see the buzz about a square screen personally. I think there will be a review on the site within a few weeks though if you are interested.

I've put down the money on the Odin 2 Mini since I just love that Vita form factor. Loved the power of the Odin 2 but the size always put me off, this one seems exactly what I've been wanting.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I don't care about the square screen it's just nice to hold something you don't have to stretch your arms a foots length
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
All these things expecting to be super huge is overrated just run a type c cable to your TV if you want a big display or in my case screen mirror it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
On the go tho I meant, I use my 10" tablet and a Bluetooth controller for retro gaming while sitting on my porch or on long car rides sometimes. Easier on my eyes than the Switch screen.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
My point is we already have enough shit with big displays having something pocketable with up to ps2 would be fine on the go

Ken unless the games are made for that screen size most suck on a screen that size... Having a square screen and being brighter and higher res helps but it's not a cure all, text is tiny bullets are tiny, your.... Well lol
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
