Not a fan of cleaning my computer...fans

So yeah, my computer is pretty much a beast. amazing specs, runs 98% of the games decently, and has tons of cool features.
BUT THE FANS! oh god the fans...this is what i gotta pay for when i use my computer for 3 years straight without cleaning it physically.
Since that issue is pretty common, you could say i'm just another one who bites the dust...heheh.
Anyway, all that dust is there, and it makes my CPU fan sound like a jet engine, and sometimes like a chainsaw. Maybe I'll take it to the zombie apocalypse.

The weirdest thing to me is that, despite the noise that seems like it's about to explode any second, my computer works completely fine.
no slowdowns, no crashes, no freezing and really, everything normal.
But I'm not stupid. Even if the computer seems in great condition, I gotta make these damn fans calm down.

It happened a few months ago, and for some reason, it stopped when I ran the same game that caused that noise to happen in the first place.
This time, it doesn't work. The noise remains...
I'll probably take it to the store where i bought it. they have a lab there, and it's nearby too!
Whatever's gonna happen, money is on the roll, especially considering my computer's warranty have already expired.

I don't mind waiting for a few days anyway. After all, it's just noise, and just like every not-too-loud noise, i can just cancel it with music or just turn off my computer when I don't use it.
Hopefully if they'll be able to clean it immediately, i'll be able to learn how to do it myself. many sources claim how to do that, but it requires some tools that aren't currently in my possession.
And really because they show that on different computers, and I'd rather see a fancy cleaning operation on what I own.

I doubt there's anything that needs to be replaced though, because otherwise, I would notice actual problems or slowdowns.

I always enjoy cleaning and dusting my computer. I do that about every 3 or 6 months. My computer never let me down and I take great care for my computer. I don't understand people hate doing that. Interesting.

Use your ears to figure out where the noise is coming from, put your hand on it, see if the noise goes away. If it goes away the sound is caused by vibration and you can use vibration dampeners that go onto the screw holes to minimize the sound.
One of my case fans is noisy and it's always been like that, I believe it's caused by it vibrating the case as its making a reverbating sound that goes away when I touch the case in that spot. I've just lived with it though, but I really should get some of those noise/vibration dampeners.

You need the appropriate air compressor and filters not any old air compressor you've had for 30 years in your garage will do

If it is a resonant mode of vibration that is causing it a glob of blu tack or something similar should change the harmonic frequency of the device and solve the problem rather than fiddling with some kind of shock mounts.

Im not sure that oil your talking about. I have been using the same air compressor for 30 years to clean every electronic device i have needed it for. Never seen any oil....

Yeah. I have seen something on Massdrop called O2 Hurricane canless air, and almost considered buying one, seems nice. Those cans of propellant (canned air is flammable as hell and mostly butane gas IIRC) are convenient since they don't require a power source, but they can get expensive. They don't last that many cleans and they are pretty expensive here in the first place. So something like that would be nice.

Make sure you hold the fan blades still when cleaning them, don't just let an air compressor spin the fan blades, use a pen ot something just to lock the fan blades into place.
I have 11 fans in my case and generally they dont get bad with air filters and if you maintain neutral pressure.

Should have seen the top of my PC's case, there was 9 years worth of dust in there.

I never did anything until now because it's a pain to access when fully setup but my mobo is RMAd and I needed to replace the fan.

You can get oil free compressors. They are normally noisy as you like (no oil to prevent things hitting and all that but we will skip the micro oil films lecture for now) and if it is 30 years old and oil free then chances are it is one meant for painting as you similarly don't want compressor oil in your fancy paint job. Newer oil free compressors are more general purpose, though at the same time if your tools require the oil you can't rely on a bit making its way through the lines to the thing when you disregard the oil daily suggestion on the tool itself.

Still get a sheet of paper. Put it on something flat, stick it down if you want. Give it a nice blast with the air nozzle (don't need to do a full tank but a few seconds at least, preferably about what you would do for all the fans and case in general) and then look at it afterwards.

Guys. enough. I'm not gonna take any advice and I already contacted someone from a workshop.
AND before you mention it, money isn't a problem too.

"I'm not gonna take any advice"
Well, that's kind of a shitty attitude.
Always better to learn how to do something yourself than rely on a 3rd party which charges you for it.
