Daylight-saving time (pictures about 350kb)

(Pretty much nonsense here. I hope it's still acceptable)

Is this even any useful (nowadays)? Does this save any energy? Why do we have to change the time on our clocks twice a year? For modern computers and radio controlled clocks this is not an issue. But what about watches? And the clock inside my old car? The old wall clocks? Even the baking oven has a f…ing clock I have to change manually. And the digital camera. And every single time I forget one of the many clocks and get confused two days later!

Just when I thought: "I’m done with the clocks", I grabbed a DS turned it on to play some Zelda… and it showed THE WRONG TIME! NOOOO! I forgot the DS-systems.

So now that I have the DS-systems (and the other consoles) done, I will not have to do this for six months! And this time I'm sure I did not forget a single stupid clock.

DST is either meant to allow for greater use of daylight hours or p*** off retail employees who have to work on Sunday.

I'm guessing the latter.

I stopped bothering with the DST changing in most devices...
sometimes it even craps the "anti cheating measures" on events based on clocks.. (IIRC pokemon)
my kitchen clock has not been adjusted for years, we just count 1 more hour during the summer
i don't think its a huge deal... if it bothers you to change the clocks, just put a sticker in the clock so you remember that he is not adjusted for DST

It's kinda funny when suddenly my car radio has the right time again

daylight saving time was already proofed in the early 00s (may earlier, I have no proof now) that it had no effect and just wastes more electricity and of course the influence on people who suffer (very minor) jet-lag like experience.
I'm glad that in EU it will be a thing of the past 2 years from now on.

I just remember I have a bunch of clocks to set when this happens :P

For the most part I ignore clocks altogether these days. Makes like far nicer -- get there when you get there, bill for projects rather than time, go roughly by where that giant ball of fire is in the sky as a reference if you are going to meet someone.

  2. I was not serious about this (hence the category “Nonsense”). DST is unnecessary as far as I know and that’s it. But I do have a sense of order and of time and I want my clocks to show the correct time.
  3. Punctuality is a good thing for me and I will not remove this from my personality.
Changing the clock with GodMode9 should get rid of the problems with “Anti-Cheat”.

The only way to solve this problem once and for all is to buy a second exact set of all them and set to their clocks to the daylight savings time. When the hour rolls back, rotate your set. :)
