(: - The Silent Killer

Over the past few months, I've seen a lot of things. I've played and reviewed some odd games, just as I've read some odd books and witnessed a few odd stories unfold in real life, but the single strangest and most disturbing thing I've witnessed is none other than a face. This face (:

On the surface, you may dismiss it as another simple way of drawing : ) (space used to avoid it being emojified), but no, this is deeper. This is something that needs to be talked about, and something that needs to be seen. (: is evil. (: is terrifying. (: is a serial killer. (: is the face I see when I'm alone in the dark. (: is the demonic smile to say I've killed and will kill again. If you use it, I can only assume you share these traits and you will be treated as such. Stay away from me you monsters.

On the adverse however, ): has seen some rough times. Think of this guy as the other side of the story. ): saw it all happen, and could do nothing. I feel for ): and want to support them in any way I can. You don't want to be a ):, but sometimes life just puts you there, and it isn't your fault. If you're a ):, things will get better, and we are all here to support you.

I hope this post has enlightened you on the intricacies of (: and ):, and I hope we can all move forwards with our lives.

so wait do you have a problem with the fact that it's (: instead of :)

EDIT: gahh nevermind the forum automatically turns it into a smiley

Where did you get this information? Sounds made up, like you have an active imagination.

Jokes aside I did always think that (: seemed a bit more sinister than :) but wasn't sure why, maybe it's because it makes it look like at first glance a sad face that doesn't entirely know what to do with itself, or just someone typoing a sad face.

@Isaac "performing moderation duties" I see you're banning yourself?

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
