The great nvidia 2080 firesale of 2020

with nvidia anouncing the 3 series card the obvious has happened to the second hand market.
its kinda gone nuts.
2080 and 2080 supers can be had for 350 and 400.
and i know you can say the 3080 is a beast and that the 3070 will be excellent and cheap... something tells me that the 3 series with all the hype will not be easily available for while.
so i made peace with myself and got me a bunch of 2080's (3 supers and 2 vanilla's for about 350 each a pop once you average prices out)

my 4 pcs will get a much needed upgrade. and i can have one in reserve just in case.
to you all going for those sexy 3 series cards... god speed.

Nice scores! I'm holding out for the eventual 3060, and it better come with 8GB of VRAM this time... I feel like Nvidia shafted the 2060 in the VRAM department, so it better not happen again. 8GB VRAM, minimum please!

Well I mean the 1060 before it got the same 6GB of VRAM, and Nvidia was stingy with the 2060 VRAM for whatever reason, sticking with the same bullshit 6GB instead of giving it 8GB.

Well, it's a good thing I'll be out of debt in a month and a half, because after that...

...IT'LL BE BACK TO HOW IT WAS FINANCIALLY FOR ME BEFORE THE END OF 2018, EXCEPT EVERYWHERE NOT NAMED SOUTH DAKOTA IS STILL UNDER CORONAVIRUS RESTRICTIONS WHEN I'LL BE OUT OF THE DEBT PRISON!

But hey, at least I could finally order a Valve Index (as in, the full kit), and maybe put together a Ryzen PC, maybe sell my current PC to an older brother who's actually looking for a mini-ITX-esque PC for his living room to replace all of his devices, provided he doesn't mind paying what would be quite the price considering all that a PC rocking an i7-8700k, GTX 1080, and 32GB of RAM is capable of, and it has an internal M.2 SSD to boot! He won't have to worry about games not running well for a while, if he ever decided to get back into gaming.

Or, I could try and use the aforementioned build, and try an experiment in making it possible to play it without having it plugged into a wall while the monitor is also being powered by the same portable battery because SCIENCE!

I just wish I could be doing all of this stuff now as opposed to what's basically going to when we in the US are going to be in a lead up to an election that, regardless of who ends up being declared the winner (I'll just say it right now; if Biden cheats his way into the presidency, we're fucked. A guy like him should not be anywhere close to the football or be responsible for anything nuclear, much less trying to deal with other countries that would take advantage of us here in the United States, and handle a virus pandemic by telling people that wearing masks are the new normal. I don't know about you, but when I'm talking to someone in person, I want to see their entire face, their expressions, etc.. Doubly so if I'm out on a date. ;) Just a little off my chest, but this election's just a repeat of 2016 where you have to decide who's the lesser of two evils, because third parties just don't stand a chance), I fear the fallout is going to be worse than the SJW TRUMP MELTDOWN CRINGE COMPILATIONS on display on YT back in 2016.

@Latiodile If what I've heard about Canada vs. US prices is any indication, I'd think things would be twice as expensive up there as they are down here in the US!

I have 1 PC and two laptops. My older laptop still works fine and the battery is still okay, so I don't see a reason to get rid of it just yet.

Cool and all but i'm disgusted by the fact that your pc case is on the floor, not just that but on that type of carpet of all places,
shame on you.

Heh, seeing the GPU market reset to acceptable prices now that the Bitcoin craze has burned is nice.

I should probably start getting a new computer put together soon, my current one will probably be outdated in a few years.

@Silent_Gunner yeah, but prices seem only to now enter the range again of "something I can purchase without needing a full year of paychecks to have it be half decent".
