Is there any good apps to fix a corrupted SD Card?

So, I was trying to convert my SD Card to Fat32 without losing any data (Was trying to download a romhack to my 3ds SD Card) and I was gonna take a shower (because of all the files, it took a long time) and then when I got out of the shower, I got an error message because my Laptop went into sleep mode and I got an error that my SD Card was corrupted and unreadable, so, I tried looking for an app to recover my files, however, most of the apps cost money. Are there any data recovery apps that don't cost money? Sorry for posting this.View attachment 225625 View attachment 225625

Try removing and inserting the microSD card into your laptop again. If that didn't solve the problem, you're likely out of luck. However, if you can open the microSD card as read-only, you might be able to copy the file out to somewhere else. If the corruption happens to be based in hardware, that generally cannot be fixed; the only way is to completely replace the corrupted card with another one.

This confuses me. Were you already using this SD card in your 3DS? Because in that case it was already formatted as FAT32, so what sort of conversion were you doing?

In any case, Testdisk is free and there have been success stories.

But there have also been reports that sometimes Easus works when Testdisk does not.

Easus is not free, but then, that doesn't necessarily stop people.

Would it be best to format the Micro SDcard or would that end up bricking my DS? I've tried using partition apps but all I get but all I can find is 16 MB partitions. I found a app that showed the files but the cost of recovering them was really expensive like $60 to recover files.

Take it out and plug it back in and see if it's still usable. If not, take this opportunity to turn sleep mode off when the damn thing is open and probably plugged in anyways, and get another MicroSD card.

Also, back every file important to you up. Digital storage is cheaper than it's ever been IMO, and I'm assuming you didn't have a 1TB Sandisk SD card, so it's not like you couldn't have made a New Folder to back stuff up real quick on the desktop, and then did the whole formatting thing.

Did you look at the links I posted before? They will help you!

SD cards fail or go missing all the time. Nothing you can do to your SD card will brick your 3DS. All you need to do to get CFW running on a new SD card is to copy a few files (mainly boot.3dsx and boot.firm) which you can easily download.

But first, you should get a NEW SD card, and test it with h2testw. This card has already been corrupted once; do you really want to take the chance that something might go wrong with it again?
