Twitter Will Engage in Extensive Political Censorship

Comments

Almost like conservative speech has become synonymous with violent/threatening speech for some reason, and it'll soon be untenable for any social media site to continue hosting it.

@Scott_pilgrim If that were true, Jayro wouldn't have been suspended for the things he said. They're cracking down on all violent speech after the attack on the capitol, now that they've finally realized online rhetoric can lead to real world consequences. Enforcement of the rules should've been equally as stringent from the beginning, but it's better late than never.

@Scott_pilgrim Imagine if this...online, digital pogrom...spreads to other sites like Facebook. Reddit's already infamous for overly-restrictive subReddit moderators, and for shutting down "offensive" subs.

And making Twitter even more closed and stuff, when it's as well-known and influential as it is - not having an opposing viewpoint - isn't healthy.

What with "critical race theory", the global misandristic witch-hunt known as #MeToo, and similar inherent racism and sexism...I've been hating modern society for a good few years now.
How long will it be before these are exposed as the massively problematic programs they are, and shut down? How long will it be before we don't have to fear for our jobs and reputations just because of our political opinions, or being male, or being white?

I despise modern society.

The right wing is full of hatred as of late, so as long as you're not spewing hatred, you've got nothing to worry about. :)

@AkiraKurusu whoah you've used a lot of words in your last comment instead of just saying "I'm a racist and misogynist and I don't like similar minded people getting called out for it. Also for some reason, women calling out their rapists and abusers is bad."

@MichiS97 More like "women being able to accuse men and be assured their male victims will have their reputations destroyed, jobs taken from them, relationships shattered, and lives destroyed without being able to defend themselves, and without needing evidence to back up the accusation, and can even post accusations anonymously yet expect the exact same impact".

You can't have the presumption of innocence with #MeToo; it's all about the disgusting nature of the crime overriding it and bringing in the presumption of guilt - a true witch-hunt.
If a woman is revealed to have falsely accused a man, is she punished? Practically never, and even if she is it's an extraordinarily-light punishment compared to what the man had and will continue to face; he, on the other hand, will have that stigma glued to him, even after it's proven to be wrong.

There's a reason why it's morally and ethically right to doubt accusations, to not support #MeToo and its hatred-filled fervour. It's not about "victim-shaming" or whatever; it's about protecting vulnerable, innocent men. It's far more sickening to convict an innocent than it is to let a guilty person roam free, after all.

Guess what? Your right-leaning asses promoted and performed a coup d'etat, you special snowflakes deserve to be jettisoned from every social network in existence to the motherfucking SUN

Very toxic, as much as I am 'left-leaning', belief systems should never be absolute and there always needs to be an opposing argument. This is literally the start of how you massively socially influence a large group of people into a single unified perspective

@Scott_pilgrim Don't blame me. I do still agree with everything I wrote above, but it wasn't me who, er, "necroed" this blog.

@Scott_pilgrim You could, just like, you know, not click on the blog link?

Gotta love the open hate on display here from the opposition to the OP's thoughts. The discourse that's on record here? This is why globalization will never truly work, and is a perfect display of a vocal minority's opinions on this site and their abject insanity when it comes to anything that isn't glorified toys.

Oh well. I guess those who post on Internet forums daily like this haven't changed at all in the last decade in terms of political views. Makes me wonder if there's a correlation that can be observed.

@SylverReZ, you played that Mario flash game called Mario 63?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, No, but I've seen it on Vinesauce's stream.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, that game is one of the reasons i met newgrounds bc the full versión of it is in that site
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Also somebody is remaking it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, the other game where I found newgrounds is new york shark

Spoke to Tom Fulp the other day, if he can find his old Newgrounds site content like the mini Flash animations from the 2000's that played on the portal.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
So far no response, but he did say that he'll find them. Wayback Machine doesn't have em.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, atleast the 1999 versión of pico's school is avaliable (the difference between it, the 2006 versión and the 2016 versión is that the speed of the game depends of the speed of your computer and that it had the og soundtrack)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Another being Pico VS Bear, the original 1999 version before Jim Henson filed a DMCA takedown.
    +1
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
The 2006 versión was made when the flash portal was made
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Many people thought it was lost, but was discovered that he hid it on the same page.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, although the "secrets" system where the game was has been removed. Also pico vs uberkids had a netplay versión that was shutdown, although the swf file has been found
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Nope. There are two download buttons on the same page, where you can download the original under a file called "bear.exe". "bear2.exe", however, is the updated game in a Flash projector. P.s. this was on the archived Pico page from 2000.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's been there for a long time, too. People who search for lost media don't look hard enough lmao.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, also the pico 2 demos used to be only for the newgrounds patrons but they are on internet archive too (https://archive.org/download/picos_school_2)
    +1
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Iirc the demos were removed from newgrounds in 2022
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, or well only the demo with mindchamber's style was on newgrounds
    +1
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Fun fact @SylverReZ: iirc one of the goals on the fnf Kickstarter stated that pico 2 would be finished but the Kickstarter didnt get enough money for that goal to be fullfiled
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, FNF sucks, their community is toxic as hell.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
