Got banana pepper water in my eye at work today

I was opening a bag of banana peppers today and part of the bag flew back and shot banana pepper water in my eye. It burned so bad and I couldn't even use my hand to wipe it because my hand was also covered in banana peppers.
Has anything like this happened to anyone else?

I was clipping my fingernails and a clipping flew into my eye. It didn’t hurt too much, but I was worried about scratching my eye. I washed my face, but that didn’t work. I pulled a few nose hairs to make myself cry. That worked!

Not to me specifically, but I used to be a server at a sports bar, and one day there was some event happening there and part of it included a hot wing eating contest, I tried a wing myself and these wings were damn spicy, among the spiciest wings I've ever had, my eyes were tearing up for a solid 10 minutes or so after eating it. Still I like a good spicy experience, so I didn't mind.

Anyway, someone taking part in the contest had an itch or something on their eye, and in the middle of the contest, without thinking they wiped their eye with a hand that had spicy sauce from the wings on it. Needless to say, that guy had a bad time. I recall seeing him pour milk on his eye in hopes of helping with the pain.

Reading the title I was thinking someone made a blend of banana and black pepper and that got launched into your eye. The story makes more sense though.

Anyway can't say I have ever had any real fun with chillies like that. Eaten plenty that were super spicy (I do like chillies and other non horseradish spicy things, rather more than is probably sensible) but other than the occasional cut (chillies being far less than some of the solvents I come into contact with in such scenarios).

I got toothpaste in my eye a couple of weeks ago, didn't really hurt iirc, more like felt really cold (and I washed it out asap of course)
