Please pray for my dad

Hey guys. My dad just got picked up by EMS to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. Couldn't go with him. They're not sure what is wrong with him. Doesn't seem like a stroke but he's lost use of his right leg.

It would be a complete dad blog comedy act as to how he responded to the firefighters. But for now I'm just scared. Please, pray, give him happy thoughts, anything. I just want my dad to be okay

I am sorry this happened, but I am optimistic that he is recovering well. It may have been a minor ailment, the kind that happens and is hard to diagnose. Everything will be fine, dear.
I wonder how scared you were, poor thing. One is never ready to face these sudden sad happenings. Unfortunately, suffering and insecurity are man's fate, and only by embracing each other can we overcome them. Good luck to you and your family.

The MRI results came back. He suffered a stroke--they called it an acute occlusion on the right side of his brain. They're keeping him yet another night, to keep watch over him and make sure there's no further complications. No brain bleeding or anything, and the doctor says while it's very bad that this happened, it's not too terrible, given what can happen in regards to strokes.

There's a good chance he can come home tomorrow night, at least. He has to use a walker, now, though.

He'll be in physical therapy for the next day or two, after a recommendation from the neurology team. They want to keep him for just a bit longer to see how he responds to motor function tests and the blood thinner he's on.

He tried to trade his cell phone to the doctor for a pack of cigs. The doctor was amused, but not a fan of the trade deal.

The nurse asked him some questions to see how his memory and brain function were. Where he lived, who the current president is, etc. He failed all of the questions, which concerned them, until I told them that was sort of normal. My mom recommended the nurses ask him sports questions. He has no idea how many US States there are, but he knew the winner of the 2003 Super Bowl, or who was the quarterback of the Houston Texans...in 1983, 1996, and 2010, specifically. Absolute success on that front.
