So, I've never played Undertale or Deltarune. I wasn't really interested in Undertale (plus it costs money) (plus the fandom), and when Deltarune chapter 1 came out for free, I kinda just didn't care I guess.
But, chapter 2 just came out, there was a ton of excitement and memes and I thought, why not give it a try? So, I downloaded it on my Switch and played it for a bit.
I started chapter 1, and I'm so glad the custom character was fake because that was terrible. Anyways, the game was pretty alright for a while. The story was a bit interesting, and the music was serviceable.
But then, the fights came.
I knew Undertale was a JRPG, but I also knew it was more... Unconventional. I didn't realize this game would be that much of a JRPG. I hated the combat, aside from the 5 second bullet hell segments.
I quit the game a little while after Susie left the Squad.
But, I did like some things. The default battle music was good, the meta XP joke was good, and the bullet hell as I mentioned earlier.
Also, I picked Susie's squad name, that conversation was funny.
But hey, I can say that I officially played other Undertale and got to see what all the commotion was about, I guess!
