Palm Oil and similar derivats..

The problem goes beyond a single ingredient like palm oil.
Being radically against "everything" isn't a solution.

Sugar? No thanks!
Salt? Nah!
Fat? Good lord, no!
Flavor enhancer? GO AWAY!

When listening to people claiming to eat very healthy / have a very healthy diet, one can get the impression that everything is toxic, dangerous, carcinogenic, causes heart disease and so on. To exaggerate: Seems I'll live the longest by starving to death instead of eating all the poisonous food.

Sure, convenience food, fast food, junk food. That isn't healthy on the long run. Sometimes I just want to eat some of it. As always the dose makes the poison.

When people rail against the food industry, I have to ask: What is the alternative? How to feed 8 billion people without intense farming, without conservation, without all the stuff the healthy people hate?

The problem is not going away.
Sure, it sounds nice, "biological farming", no pesticides, no artificial fertilizer, no anything. At the end of the day this needs way more room to produce the same harvest. People not having the money for food produced "the good way" is only a partial problem. The real problem is that earth will hardly be able to produce enough for the increasing population - let alone in a sustainable way (in addition to the energy problem that becomes bigger each day)

Sooner or later this will collapse under the number of humans if we don't stop to let the population grow. You can't beat the exponential function -- no matter what you try to maximize the output of farming.

True.
But it still seems there ought to be a better, less harmful way.
Sure you can't avoid everything (Even air is oxidizing).

Black and white mentalities are worthless.
Everything has it's use place, or as the german saying goes:

Humans are prone to overdoing everything like overexcited children, thinking little of consequences.

I still am wary of the "profit maximizing"-BS the corps always are so proud of.

It reminds me of this german fella here, that rants about plastic.

I /especially/ agree with the overpopulation idea of yours.
Enough is enough.
I think the worlds children'd rather grow up with fewer peers, but better living conditions... Shame people in general are ignorant, egoistic and shortsighted.

Near impossible than Palm Oil to "remove" from actual Food Markets...

The "Fertig Produkte" (Convenience Food) has taken the World......
No matter if they branded it with "BIO" and Free from Flavor Enhancer".....

But......it is ok,everbody is free to eat what he likes.

Some "Viruses" are maybe happy to thrive much better with "additional" Ingredients.....maybe.
