I like doing these little bi-yearly life update blogs, so I'm doing another one!

Hey y'all, me again! A lot of you probably don't know who I am, its been probably a bit over a decade at this point since I've been an active member here but I'm always lurking around, reading the latest news, and enjoy writing these little blog posts about how my life has been going. It's fun to look to back on them to see how much has changed and how much I've grown as a person throughout the years. So if no one reads them, that's fine, it's a nice little personal time capsule for myself.

So without further ado, here's another one. My last life update was in December of 2019.

Welp, 2020. We all know how that year went for everyone, and honestly, it wasn't really the worst year for me. Sure the few beginning months were very frightening, from March til probably May-June I went to bed every single night with a feeling of impending doom and my life along with everyone else's completely turned upside down, but for the most part, it wasn't too terrible. Just kind of uneventful, I hung out with my brother almost every single night, played a bunch of video games with him, drank a lot of wine, and ate a lot of Cheez-It's, and welp, to be honest, we're kind of doing the same thing even now in 2022 still because its just a fun time. 2020 was also my year of really ramping up with my Audio Production career! Since January of 2020, I haven't gone a month where I'm not working on some mix or master for a band. It's honestly been really awesome! I even got to work with one of my favorite musicians on his upcoming album, I was so damn nervous and excited to work on it but he absolutely loved the results and has hired me to work not only on his side project and yet another full length for his main project which I will be starting soon! The worst part about 2020 for me to be honest was not knowing when I would see my fiancée again, we got engaged in August of 2019, she went back home to Portugal in October of 2019 and we were planning on getting married sometime in 2020 but with the pandemic and international borders closed. That wasn't going to happen. So that sucked but that was 2020 in a nutshell. Not too shabby, now onto 2021.

2021. Well, 2021 fucking sucked. It was a constant rollercoaster of emotions. My parents caught COVID right after New Years, but luckily for them it wasn't bad. More or less a bad cold but it was extremely scary nonetheless as they're pushing 70. They had the classic symptoms but luckily nothing got too extreme. After that emotional ride, a month later one of my best friends got into some legal issues that divided our friend group right down the middle. The situation (which I will not be airing out, so please don't ask what happened) unfortunately ended some of my oldest friendships, and that hit hard. I'm terrible at letting people go and when forced to choose a side especially between friends who I have such a rich history with, it was impossible to do so. How do you just drop people who days prior you were hanging out with and everything was fine? So due to my indecisiveness those friends just basically cut it off with me, it sucks, and no matter what I was going to lose a friendship either way, just sucks it had to be that way. I think about it daily but unfortunately what's done is done, can't change time unfortunately so I just keep moving along. A short couple months after that situation, my favorite resident at my job passed away. We still to this day don't know exactly how he got sick, it wasn't COVID but pneumonia did him in. He was the reason I've stayed at this job for so long. I was never planning on working there for 7 years, but from day one of me working with him we had an instant bond. We'd go all over, out to lunch, on drives, to family dinners, etc. he was a friend I never expected and made the job not feel like job, just felt like I was going to hang out with a friend each shift. I visited him in the hospital multiple times a week until I got a message from my manager that he passed away one morning in mid April. I'm still working there but without him there the job has been a former shell of what it once was. He was one of the most wholesome beautiful beings I've ever met. His passing hit me terribly hard, and still does even almost a year later. Luckily the months after and the majority of the summer were okay, nothing of much interest happened just a lot of working. Still lots and lots of Audio Production work which helped keep my mind off of the beginning months of the year so I'm thankful for that. In late August however, my Uncle unfortunately passed away from complications with not only COVID but other health issues he had, he and I weren't very close as but losing a family member sucks nonetheless, I felt awful for my Aunt as they were together for close to 50 years, she was a mess but she's doing better now. As 2021 was a rollercoaster though, right after that I was finally able to go and visit my fiancée for the first time in almost two years! I had an amazing time visiting with her and family, I was there for just shy of three weeks and it was a nice getaway from everything that happened that year. This finally leads us into the later months of the year, my fiancée was finally able to come back into the country in November and she's finally here for good! We had a great holiday, but unfortunately my parents got COVID yet again the day after Christmas, however it was insignificant this time. Still a bit scary but they were done and over with it in a few days.

That leads us up to now, my fiancée's visa was approved which is why she's able to be in the country for good now and we get married this coming Friday! It's a very nice start to 2022 and I can only hope that this year is better than last year. I really don't want a repeat of 2021, I can only take emotional rollercoasters for so long.

I also just noticed I didn't touch upon any of my music projects, I'm still writing and making music when I can in between all the mixing and mastering. I started yet another new project last January with a long time internet friend of mine, It's super raw, noisey, Black Metal. I'll leave a link below to one of our tracks if y'all are interested in giving it a listen. It's really fun to make! I love working with a lot of atmosphere and trying to make it sound super spooky. We've gotten a lot of good reception with it as well, with our releases getting released on vinyl and cassette!

Anyways, thanks for reading if you got this far. I don't expect anyone to read all of this except for myself in like two years from now when I remember to make a new one.
Hope all of you are doing well, it's cool to still see some old faces around. I'm glad to see the community is still thriving! :)
