My first chiptune EP

This is my first 8bit album. I figured I'd share it here because I know a lot of people here are interested in 8bit music.

Special Thanks to:

Note! - For his constant support and the great artwork

BleepBloop and Kitsch - For the phenomenal USB cart and it's prompt delivery

TristENdo - For the inspiration to try writing loops instead of through-composing my songs

This album is the first in a trilogy of loop based albums. Made of different loops, this was inpsired by my good friend, TristENdo, who convinced me to try loops as opposed to through-composing my songs. Each song is also in a different medieval mode. Plus 5 interwebs to the first person to correctly identify the mode of each one. ^_^ I've also tried to bridge as many styles as I possibly can. Everything from Folk to Metal are included in this release. Enjoy![/quote]

Additional thanks to RBR records for releasing the album.

I like tracks 2, 3 and 6 the best. You're really good, you should look at putting music behind an actual game!

TettaDS suits it a lot

I've always wanted to create 8bit music, but It always seems complicated when I go to do it. (Like you use a whole bunch of numbers to get a note?)

Welp, back to using real instruments

Were I to ever score a video game soundtrack, I'd rather do one that isn't mediocre in every single way. :-P I'm glad people like it. ^_^

It's actually not that hard. Most use a tracker interface, but there are a lot of things that do not. For example, there is a program for Gameboy and Gameboy Advance called Nanoloop. It has a completely different interface with little to no hex numbers or anything like that. I prefer LSDJ is is a traight tracker, but Nanoloop is great for people not used to that interface.

I'm glad people like it! If anybody has any questions about the album or chip music in general, feel free to shoot me a PM. ^_^

Just wanted to give this a bump because I know there are a lot of people who would really get a kick out of this album.

Very cool, I'll give it a listen. I'm trying to get my hands on one of those USB-BleepBloop carts myself right now.

I like it! Is this all in lsdj, or did you use nanoloop too?

This is entirely LSDJ. The USB carts are in between batches right now. Nonfinite-electronics may still have a unit or two. I have a USB cart and it is absolutely phenomenal (I was one of the first people to get my hands on one). ^_^

Nanoloop never really did it for me, but people like Dise (A.G.M.) really make me want to get a copy of it (it's just soooo expensive). I'm thinking about picking up 1.5 or 2.3 when I manage to get myself a little bit of cash, but I'm not sure as the interface never really made sense to me. =\

EDIT: It seems nonelectronics.com DOES have some in stock still. Get 'em while they're hot!

love the stairway to heaven cover, just chucked that and this album on my ipod <3

Yep, just bought one! Woo. I just dug out my two old grey bricks and my gameboy color, it'll be fun to mess around with lsdj on them. :D

I'm so pumped, NCAA football video game is back after a 10 year hiatus, coming to SeriesS/X, PS5 in July.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Wish they would let us play the NCAA football 14 on newer xbox, its one of the only games I love and own on disc still, that is not back compatible, bs.

@BigOnYa My dad recently bought a spare Series X off of me, got game pass, and saw Madden '24 on Game Pass, decided to try it out.

...He was a bit taken aback by the 60GB download size. Poor guy's still living in the 90s!

  • AdenTheThird @ AdenTheThird:
@K3Nv2 He was looking into consoles for his house anyway (for my younger siblings and himself) and I had a spare XSX and Switch I ended up selling him at pretty steep cuts. I would just give them to him, but I did buy them with the intent to sell them... and college is super expensive.
