DS Wifi is harshing my mellow.

So I've been playing Advance Wars:DOR like every evening and it's making me mean.

I win like 50-60% of the time which I think is good considering at least some of those fools are cheating (not to distract from the honest strategic masters out there). But I get pissed and need to fight off tension headaches because of it. I play games to unwind, not to be stressed - that's the main reason I hung up the golf clubs. Never play that stupid sport, I'd rather staple the scorecard to my shin than tee off again.

And then there's the fact that when I'm playing on wifi for some reason, it's more serious to me. I get impatient with my wife which is the worst possible thing. Women, if you didn't know, seem to instinctively pick the most inopportune times to needle you about matters of earth-shattering importance. Like what are we going to do three weekends from now? and maybe I should have bought the yellow wedge shoes instead of the blue. She simply does not understand that I have a clear shot at this a-holes rockets and cannot afford a mis-step.

But anyway, I've seen the damaging influence and will make an effort to give it up or maybe just play one day a week.

And for you who are single and/or living in your moms basement. Enjoy all of that free time. Damn, how I wish I could spend a week barricaded in my living room with the curtains drawn with nothing but movies, games and chicken wings. Al Bundy was right, people.

Time to go sob now.

What do you recommend?

I suck at Mario Kart. Tetris gets boring. And it's hard to find competitors for some of the Club House games.

Hmmm... maybe Moon or GTA: CW. Those can be alot of fun and really distract from your stress.

Same with me, anything competitive just blows my fuse. I cope by playing co-op games most of the time, but I can't really think of any on the DS besides Portrait of Ruin, but that gets boring real fast and hardly anyone still plays it now.

Edit: I believe the new Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles has online co-op.

Still sucks being single :(

Man I totally know the feeling. I don't even play after my wife gets home. Hell I can't even read or post on GBATemp if she is here. It is truely odd how she will just sit there not saying a word until I start reading a post or pick up my DS. I love her more than life but I am positive it is her mission to prevent me from playing to many games.

Oh man. Totally dude. She can be reading a book or talking to her mom on the phone. I pick up the DS and start playing. "Are you gonna do that all night?"
Well, since I'm sure sex is out of the question, yes, why shouldn't I?

It's not just having the wife now. It's the 11 month old who now fights like a badger until finally falling asleep at 9:00 p.m., giving us all of about an hour to do whatever we want.

Single people - enjoy your game time. Know that if you want to find true love, you will most likely have to give up a lot of it. Unless of course you find a partner who's also obsessed about games.
