Mugged

No more than an hour ago, I was in a friend's neighbourhood, just passing by. I saw a bunch of black guys in a small basketball court, and I thought they were just minding there own business. However, after walking half a block, someone poked me on my back, and I didn't know who it was. But this guy went in front of me, and tried to ask me what was in my pocket. He started tugging at the wire of my headphones, thing to take them away from me. I was so alarmed by this that I punched one of them in the face, then I realized he was trying to take my headphones from me. After this there was another person who came from behind and pushed me down to the ground, at which point my glasses fell off. It was a real scuffle, and I was then pushed on to the street, where my cellphone fell on the ground. I was pretty defenseless and wanted to at least try to get a friend, so I ran away, still being followed by them. I was pushed down again when I got to my friends steps, then they all started to go down a small little lane. One of the people I recognized from the basketball court quite a bit, but I never talked to him. And I asked him why the hell they were doing that? But he just asked me why I tried to beat him up. So I tried to go to my friend's just to find out he wasn't home. Also went to another friend's house who also wasn't home. I also had to look for my glasses, which took a bit of time since I was in a bit of a frenzy after what had just happened.

After that the pair of headphones I had just made a blog about were ripped to apart by people I didn't know. I managed to get away with my iPod Touch and my glasses, which were chipped on the left lense. I also picked up the pieces of my broken headphones and went home. After something like that, I'm not bringing out any of my valuables. I don't even know want to bring my house keys with me, because I have no clue what I could've ignited, but this isn't my last time going up there, because I have friends up there.

Yep. Headphones are a big tipoff for muggers, especially those very noticeable white iPod ones.
Next time, try walking with a friend, or riding a bike or skateboard.

Find them and and follow them around with camera, catch them doing some shady shit again and call the cops. Or steal something back (well planned of course). And if you can snap some good pictures fuck with em and print a bunch of papers with there face on it and plaster it everywhere saying to avoid these fucks.

Were wearing the headphones that you blogged if you were I'm not surprised that those guys went after you those things are pretty big well next time you go walking carry a knife and a cellphone only like you said that's what I do when I go walking in my neighborhood.

Ugh, I hate thugs like that. I've learned that it helps to keep your cash in your shoes, and keep a decoy of money in your back pocket. Monopoly money is good.

Next time walk around with broken earphones in your ears (Though not too noticeably broken) and have them in your pocket connected to nothing. Bring a knife and a camera :creep:.

Fill a a nice large sack of balloons filled of up a 50/50 mixture of animal fieces, dog, cat, people, whatever. and Motor Oil (preferably old motor oil that just got drained after 3000 miles) maybe put some broken glass chunks in the mixture if you desire and sling that shit at them and run for the hills.

When they aren't around, break the basketball hoop/clog it/put some stinky shit around it/dump a whole lot of shit on the court that stinks and stuff.

I just had police make me say a statement. I don't even believe it will help that much, but they will do what they can.

But seriously, it's really humiliating when something like that happens.

and if nothing happens keep putting that statement in and make a huge stink about it, Im talking about writting the local news paper about how unsafe it is to walk around your neighborhood and the cops wont do anything to help.

I hate people like that. In UK we refer to them as Hoodies or Chavs. Rather than carry a knife I would suggest just riding a bike instead and avoid that route if possible. Don't wear headphones trying to lure them unless you're out for revenge. If police found you with a knife you're fucked...rather them than you.

Sry to hear about it.

Just goes to show never show ur valuables in public.

And thugs look for signs that someone is an easy target. Sloped shoulders, head down, unsure eyes. Not saying that's you, but I see a lot of people that should work on that.

And maybe most importantly people that walk around with headphones on have voluntarily removed one of their most important senses, is hearing the Jonas Brothers that important.

Well that sucks but if you were walking around with the headphones you posted about earlier you were asking for it. Those are pretty valuable looking and to walk around with them in a community that obviously has problems is dumb. Next time try taking a street more populated that way someone's less likely to jump you and definitely dont pull out valuables.

Haha on the latest discussions page it said "Mugged by PettingZoo".

On-topic:

If you know for sure that you can't take them in a fight, or if they've got a weapon on them and they approach you, throw your wallet on the ground and run in the opposite direction. There's a good possibility they'll go for the wallet and leave you alone.

Try your best to stay away from that area from now on.

.... :( It sucks pretty bad for you, you seemed to be really happy with those new headphones you blogged about.

Oh shit the cops are after me D:. On the latest discussions it said "Mugged by HeHe Moo" I though that someone was saying "Lol you got mugged"

On-Topi: Next time you go through that neighborhood you should bring no valubles, but wear some broken headphones (That don't look broken) and keep the lead not attached to anything in your pocket, an old empty wallet you don't use and any other fake things you don't need that you can throw at them thinking they have scored, thus trolling them.

Tracking them down stealth style... mace then taze the little shit. that took your shit. then take a shit on there bastketball court. and saw off the Hoop.

I know you feel like shit about because I've had the same sort of experience but just realise that theres nothing you could have done. Just take this as a lesson and always keep your eyes open in the street. Don't bother thinking bad thoughts of them or yourself because it never helps. Also you say you won't carry valuables anymore but in 6 months youll have your ipod touch out with you like it never happened :P.

Shit, I've only just noticed this thread. Sorry to hear what happened to you Cp mate, that sucks. I'm probably not the best person to take advice from cos I don't mind a bit of a tear up, but don't let it change the way you behave. You should still take whatever you want out with you, like Xcali says tho just be a bit weary when you're wandering the streets.

One thing I'll say tho, you've obviously got some bollocks! You didn't just roll over and let them take your shit, good on ya mate. It can be a bit dangerous doing that these days with knife and gun crime and stuff. I'd get yourself down a boxing/kick-boxing class. You've already shown a bit of heart, learnin to defend yourself will give you a bit of the confidence you've just lost back.

About 90% of the people you stand up to will leave you alone after that, as sad as it sounds they'll even try and be pally with you after that and try and show you respect which in actual fact just them not wanting to get sparked out again. lol

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
