What do you do in a college orientation

Mine is coming up and I have no idea what to expect. It's not even held at the school >__>

basically they tell you stuff about the school, what to do and not do, usually a guided tour around campus, and a bunch of other stuff related to that matter


I just skipped mine, but got hammered for it latter and had to do a bunch of getting involved with the school activities :{
I just went to movies that they showed, lol

Orientation is just a way for you to know what to expect on the campus/school.. like what Joe88 said, they'll tell you bout the school and stuff.. Some are a big deal, some are not. Familiarize yourself with the stuffs so you wouldn't have problem..

In my first orientation, they did a raffle and i got a pen! woot! lol
Mind if I ask what degree are you going to take? :)

Im taking Game Development if that's what you're asking.

Also there's a chance to win an iPhone in my orientation. Im not holding my breath that i'll win though so yeah lol

Skip it, you don't need it, and you must know how to learn on the fly or ask your parents and faculty about college experiences.

Mine was stupid. It was required, if you skipped you couldn't register for classes. It was a whole week long and they made you play all kinds of dumb games. We didn't take them seriously so we were lectured about how we would fail college if we didn't work together to get this stupid game figured out. I don't know any other school that had an orientation like mine, and it wasn't some fruity liberal arts college either, but an engineering school. It was really weird. Contrary to what they told me, I didn't fail out, and graduated from there in 2004.

EDIT: Oh, and they wouldn't turn your internet or cable on for the entire week either, since they wanted you mingling.
