I wrote a paper on a book I didn't read...

...and got an A

Seriously, I think I would have never gotten such a good grade if I spent my time reading it instead of researching.

Look, I am a straight A student and normally do all the work myself.

I was just overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of assignments lately and cheated a bit, and I am happy it worked out.

That's all.

I read not even one chapter of All Quiet on the Western Front, wrote an essay on it, and got a 90-something for it. I also read about half of some book in 7th grade and got a 100 on the project.

In sweden (in upper secondary school, or whatever it's called: 16-18 years old) we have this grading system: IG (Fail) G (pass) VG (passed well) MVG (passed very well) (haha, such failing translations!)
so VG is pretty good, and I got that in english even though I didn't hand in a single thing! Got everything right on the national tests and every other test, but neved handed in any homework due to laziness... got VG... that.... that's pretty good, since a LOT of others got just G handing in everything ;)

Lord of the Flies.

I did it a few years ago. I didn't even open the front cover and got an A+, along with little foot notes describing my accuarcy and attention to detail.

I still haven't read the book.

I actually pulled that off for every book I've had to read for whatever language so far, including the mindkillingly boring Lord of the Flies and the quite boring (with exception of the court part) to kill a mockingbird.

I once passed a class where I only attended the first day.

Kids: don't try this at home.

I got 90-something on a bunch of tests I didn't study for. Hooray for irrelevancy.

Anyways, I did the same thing once. Got 96%. Some books are so boring that I don't even bother reading them.

Will have to do it twice more to finish English IV when I go back to school on Wednesday. . .[/quote]
But The Crucible was so short.

but so so boring.
I had just read Animal Farm and completed a series of essays projects and paper.
I liked that book.
I read 5 pages of The Crucible and fired up IE.
(school computers.)

Yeah, one time I had to write a little essay on some terrible book. I just copied the synopsis from the back of the book and integrated some of the review quotes into it. I got pretty worried as it came close to getting the paper back, but then the teacher made this big speech about how I was the only person in the class who seemed to understand what was going on.

GBAtemp should be legally obligated to ban them, as its against the law to collect information from users under 13 because of COPPA. :tpi:

VR had the chance to integrate with existing games and tech but VR companies said "NO, I WANT MY SHIT TO BE STANDALONE AND MY GAMES EXCLUSIVE TO FACEBOOK"

  • Veho @ Veho:
Back when Oculus Rift was still starting out and being demoed around, they modded existing games to use it as a 360° immersive screen thing and that was AMAZING.

The tech isn't there for affordable power enough VR headsets at a good market value yet sadly, oculus had a good idea but didn't have enough funds for marketing iirc
  • Veho @ Veho:
But now it's "can I use my VR set with my racing games, that would be neat?" "ONLY IF YOU USE OUR DILDOSTICK CONTROLLERS AND RUN THE GAME ON OUR ANDROID-UNDERPOWERED BRICK"

  • Veho @ Veho:
The tech to have quality VR goggles at an affordable price is here, but every set has to have 4 additional controllers and be standalone.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
These are the same type of gamers that spend $2,000 on a GPU when a $600 GPU gives nearly the same outcome which is what the market looks at for them to do spend more on unneeded bs
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
If we're talking AAA titles a vr headset would be priced at nearly the same cost as a midrange gaming pc maybe even double
