I thought you said you had old ones? I still have alot of my N64 ones like Mario 64 and Diddy Kong Racing. I have a few new ones like that Sunshine and Pokedex one you have though.

the sunshine one is old :ha:

Old for me at least.

And pokemon emerald is oldish

I used to have a Fired/LeafGreen guide. Lent it to a friend and never got it back. Recently found a ROM site that has scans of a bunch of game guides and I redownloaded my lost guide. :D

Haha... I used to do this as a kid... a long, looooong time ago.

Back when I was really small (maybe like 10-13?), I used to save up money for these things just to read through them and gaze at the pictures, almost like picking up the actual game... but not really. :ha: I think the biggest thing for me back then was that these books were $15 and games and consoles were steep for my tiny, jobless self.

I never really had any new consoles that a lot of my friends did as a kid (I somewhat took over my dad's Genesis because I began to play it more than he did, all the way up to the end of the N64 generation, I never had any of those consoles) these books were my portal to the newest and hottest games. They were quite the read.

My favorite was Banjo-Kazooie, nice and thick, awesome characters, even had a walkthrough and poster for Grunty's Quiz Questions at the end.

To this day I've never played Banjo Kazooie, though...

In fact, I think I still have a stack of those guides buried somewhere in my moving boxes... I should do some digging...

Ah memories. ^_^

I used to have a pokemon sapphire one somewhere.
That thing was in pieces last I checked.

I still have my nintendo power guide books. The red ones, that were intersparsed with issues from the late 80's (or early 90's?).

Final Fantasy, SMB3, A Sports collection and Simon's Quest (i think?)

I got rid of my old issues last year... that i'd held on to for since my subscriptions started (gamepro, nintendo power, EGM) from late 80's. That was sad. I kept a few. I needed space. Like the Ninja Gaiden issue of Nintendo Power (my first issue... i think that's issue 4 or 5?)

I still go back and look at them from time to time. Ahhhh nostalgia :P

I've never had a guide book, the internet has always been helpful enough on the odd occasion I get stuck.
The only thing I ever got that was even close to a guide book was this
pokemon10thanniversarypokedex.jpg

It was a 3rd gen pokedex book thing, which helped my pokedex stats a lot. :D

I figured. i save money on games. so... i can buy their books. which are collectables. since EB games only get's them ONCE AND THEN NEVER AGAIN. I Try to buy the hardcover versions. but they're to expensive .___.

30$ for a freaking cook?no way

G
I used to collect coins. The special quarters with Olympic symbols!
Now, I collect bus transfers.

I plan on getting the Super Mario Galaxy 2 Prima Guide with the game.

I have a certain fettish for printed guides as well. I have a bunch. Ill upload pics later.
Oh and i have like 10 pdf guide scans from various places around the internetz.

I've only had one official guide book which was Paper Mario: TTYD's one. But I kind of over-used it and eventually all pages came out .
For any other games where I've needed one I've looked at an online one or used the tips & tricks section of some gaming magazines.

I have the Pokemon Emerald and the Pokemon Platinum books you have. The Platinum one is ridiculously thick!
