This is actually my first blog post. I don't like to document my life in general, but seeing as i'm a mag staff and this can affect my work here, i'll go ahead and try it. If you hate people having too much fun though, you may be offended by this post lol, i'm pretty excited!
Well it's been a crazy year. First of all, back in the first and second quarter- we had this huge flood down in Tennessee. Wrecked a lot of the house we live at, which was already in dire need of a roof and repairs. It turns out that the repairs will cost way too much for us. We've decided to sell it instead, and we're closing with a contract next week. So there's a bit of luck. I live with my mom, and our lives have both been sucked up by the stress of the year. I haven't had much time to spend online much, and that will likely continue during the next few months. I've only checked GBAtemp and tried to carry out my mag staff duties a couple of times a day at most. We're going through a ton of cleaning, packing, and we'll have to move as well. We have a rather large house with a lot of stuff, so it's hard and time consuming.
Luckily though, finances are no longer a burden. We got enough for our house, and enough to buy another decent house as well as live comfortably. For the remainder of the year though, we've decided to take a tour of America. We haven't taken a vacation in well over 12 years, and we've been stressed for a long time trying to work our asses off. Thankfully, we've managed to get any debts or bills paid. Unless you've gone through the payments yourself, you have no idea how great it feels to be a free spirit after many years of hard work. It's so liberating, and i'm extremely happy! We're just going to put all our stuff in storage for a few months until we find a place to settle. Ironically, the poor housing market may work in our favor, prices are coming down.
So for the rest of the year, we'll be having some fun. We're traveling out west on a road trip, and i'll spare those who don't want any "showing off" by using our convenient spoiler tags. Hehe! Here's the list of some of the places we're going to-
After that, we'll return home (TN) for a few days and likely stay at a hotel or something. Then we're heading to the east, along the Atlantic coast-
During this travel time, i'll have access to a PC and internet, but i might not be around quite as much. I'll try to pop in a couple of times a day unless i'm not able to get online. So during the next few months, i'll be on a sort of "extended vacation". Something to help get my sanity back you could say.
I wanted to make this to tell both members and staff just to notify you of my absence. I'll try my best to continue my staff duties while on the road and such. I'm even going to get an Android phone which i'll be able to use with my laptop via tethering, so even on the road, i should be able to access online. I want to try my best to enjoy this trip though, i've been waiting a long time for a chance to travel again! First half of the year was pretty rough, second half should be healing for us. Next year i'll probably be going to college finally. After we're settled in a house. My mother might even be able to go back to college to complete her education. She wants to go to Europe too, but we'll see...

- California including LA, San Francisco, San Diego. We'll be visiting some museums/beaches/zoos
- Disneyland CA (never been here, though i've been to the Florida one in my childhood and even the Paris version)
- Grand Canyon
- Colorado including Denver, Vail, Leadville, Aspen, and maybe some other places
- Probably will visit Chicago on the return trip, we may or may not go through New Mexico, dunno yet
We'll be gone during the second half of August and probably most of September. It should be great fun. I've been to Colorado before but none of the other places. I'm extremely hyped. We're big museum and zoo people too, so there's lot to do in CA. We'll probably be camping some, which i've never done either. Hopefully we won't get eaten by grizzly bears...
