Sprained/swollen ankle :/

So I played a little basketball in the afternoon.
Tried to do a lay-up  [I don't play basketball that much, just rarely.]
After I jumped to shoot the fracking ball, my left foot fell first, there was a surface where it wasn't leveled, resulting in a minor injury.
Can't blame anyone since it was simply my stupid fault. I stayed in the clinic for 3 1/2 hours and was unable to join Health class.
The swell isn't that much big, it just hurts walking so I'm left hopping with my right foot. :(
Now I won't be able to go to school tomorrow.

So errr, what do you do if the same thing happens to you?

Just like when I had my appendix out :3

I haven't done a proper lay-up ever...

Maybe I should do some...

Anyways,you don't have school,so go practice on those lay-ups.

I hate basketball. I suck at it

Hell if I know. Never had a sprained ankle. Sprained wrist, yes. But damnit, I still used the computer like normal. I didn't pussyfoot around and chickenpeck, either.

But one time, I had an excruciating cramp in my leg. I had to stay on the computer less, but hell, I ended up sitting and playing vidya games more since it didn't hurt to sit on the floor.

But... Say I did have a sprained ankle...
I'd probably read some Meru Puri (or is it Meri Puri? I can't remember) and Godchild, sit around playing vidya gaems, and play on the computer. XD Nothing more than usual...

Use a hot water bottle and an ice pack.
Use one for fifteen minutes, and then the other for fifteen minutes.

Sounds like a recipe for a hot ice cream.

I sprained my ankle earlier this month trying to Febreze my shoes on a tile floor...didn't work out favorably on my end. Still hurts like hell. I sprain my ankle 1-4+ times a year so I know how that is. That ankle surgery didn't help at all, in fact, it just made it worse. I never sprained my ankles this badly before that ligament reconstruction surgery. So I know what you're going through. Make sure to use RICE and you'll be better in no time. My aunt thinks I might have broken or fractured something last year since my ankle was swollen for like 3 months and I couldn't walk on it at all. Too bad I had no money and my douchebag of a father didn't want to help me out. I supposedly owe him $700 for Wisdom Teeth removal (this asshat did nothing for me as a child, kinda figured he should step up as a father and do something for me, but what can you do).

Anyway RICE:

Rest - Stay off that ankle!
Ice - Use ice to reduce swelling.
Compression - Ace bandage that sucker!
Elevation - Keep your ankle above your heart when lying down.
